I used to work in the music business but finally came to terms with myself and realized that I don't want to be anywhere near the business side of music, noooo thank you. I mainly wanted to go for a more balanced life where I can enjoy making music and at the same time know that if I'm going to BUST MY ASS at a job I'll make money at the end of the day.That doesn't mean, however, that I don't want to be involved in music. I've grown up surrounded by music, thanks to my dad (luv that man!). Piano, choir, voice lessons, clarinet, flute, and then eventually adding turntables into the mix...its been the constant in my life and I love it :) I'd be nice to make it as an artist but the more I think about it, I'd be more content just hanging out with friends, making music and not putting any sort of pressure on what comes out. No matter what happens in my life, I'll always have the ability to play the piano; sit down and zone out on the keys and see what comes out at the end of the day.So now I work a 9-5 at a commercial real estate firm. I'm really happy there and in that industry. Its only been a year so things could change but if I've made it past the 6 month mark and haven't lost interest, thats a very good sign. I'm even happier that I get to go home and enjoy music at whatever level. Whether listening and discovering new music, playing piano, DJing, poorly attempting to make beats at night and hanging out with friends.I feel like I'm in a good place in my life right now and that's completely reflective in all my surroundings. I'm looking forward to the future and what else it brings.Ultimatley I think people have way more control than they think they do over their life. THings that seems uncontrollable really can change. There's a million different realities going on around you and you can choose which one to participate in. Regardless of the cards you've been dealt, you have the ability to turn it into whatever you want.****************MIND OVER MATTER*******************
