The Profalaktix formed in August of 2003 and held our first practice at DIY venue, the Factory House that same month. George had moved to Connecticut from Arizona the year before, Josh had been playing guitar in The Misjudged, Brandon had been playing bass in Down For The Count, and Mark had been playing guitar in Vendetta and running CTpunx.com. All four of them had similar tastes in music as well as beliefs of what true punk was about.
After a few months of practicing in the ghetto of New Haven, the band began playing shows all over the state. Frequent venues included Club Static, El-N-Gee, and Arch Street. In 2005 the band went on hiatus when Mark moved to Florida. Mark returned in 2006 and the band reformed to finish recording their debut full-length "Our Struggle."
Soon after the release of "Our Struggle," Brandon and Josh left the band to pursue other interests. Kevin from the Misjudged who had been playing bass in the band switched to drums and Mike from Drawback joined on bass. The band returned to playing the occasional show and has been writing new material for an upcoming EP. Stay tuned!!
