So here we are back with a bang, New Jerseys original streetpunks, The Bristles. After a five year hiatus, due to the unfortunate passing of our guitar player Paul Decolator, we’re finally ready for the next round. In between his time with American Barfight , Sean, and Aaron are back writing together again, and with the addtion of Greasy Tony (most recently he's been playing with The Undead , and Dean Dean and the Sex Machines featuring members of Blanks 77 and Furious George ) , we have three original members of the "Last Years Youth" era, ready to get things moving. Recently we've added Ryan on bass formerly of Broken Heroes , and Johny G of South Jersey's own The Bloodreds , on drums. This reunion has been discussed and planned for years now, but it took a while for everything to come together. But here it is Abandoned and Obnoxious together again after almost 13 years, this is destined to be some of the best Bristles material to date. So be on the lookout for a brand new and long overdue Bristles recording to be hitting the streets.
A little history of the band. It all started back in 1992 with the release of “Too fucked up to screw up†a split 7†with Blah (members of Plan-a-project and more recently The Ratchets ) then later that year the “Pogo ‘til you puke!†7†was released on Beer City Records . Greasy Tony joined shortly after the recording of that record (which most people didn’t know was recorded in some guys record room in a farm house in the middle of the woods of Orange County, New York) and we were back in the studio to record “Generation Annihilationâ€, another 7†for Beer City. We did some touring after that record was released and started building a good size following. In 1995 we recorded and released our debut LP/CD “Last Years Youthâ€, everything was at an all time high. But between some minor altercations, lots of trouble and Aaron leaving the state for a better life, things began to fall apart. Greasy Tony left to play for Broken Heroes With all of this, everything started to come to a close. Well, only for a short period of time. Sean picked the band back up and the next year released two 7â€s one on Beer City and one on Pelado Records , followed shortly after by the bands second LP “Lifestyles of the poor and unknownâ€. Everything started getting better and better, with a couple tours under their belts and two more splits one with TKO record greats The Workin’ Stiffs and another with the legendary U.S. Bombs, as well as the addition of Chip on bass and Paul on guitar, they had the strongest line-up since the original and were ready for anything. The year 2000 may not have brought the Y2K downfall of society like many thought it would, but it did bring the bands third full length “Tattooed and Rottenâ€. Shortly after the tour for this record was over everyone took some necessary time off to wind down and get their own lives back together, so the band could regroup in a couple months and start writing again. Well that never happened, as mentioned previously Paul passed away of an overdose and the band fell apart. Until now....
This page will serve as the bands primary website, at least for now, so check here for new info, and send any messages through here. Oh yeah, by the way you’re buying the next round.
