LUCIPHER THE GREATLUCIPHER THE GREAT has listened to Hip-Hop his whole life and began writing in his early teens. In the halls of Monte Vista High School, LUCIPHER participated in ciphers and battles while passing around his mixtapes. Starting as a hype-man and progressing to an individual act, LTG has gone from busking to performing in cafes, open mics, and local talent showcases from Monte Vista High School, Oasis Cafe and The Star Gazer Club to The Hot Monkey Love Cafe and The Ramada Inn. In 2004 LUCIPHER THE GREAT was a two-time Challenger and, finally, Champion on San Diego's Blazing 98.9 FM's Freestyle Showdown. He has collaborated with locally celebrated artists such as BET's 106 & Park's Freestyle Friday Champion Obnoxious, and Chicano Rap Legend Mr. Shadow. By early 2007 LUCIPHER was not only the first San Diego artist to achieve the one thousand bar mark, but was also Hip-Hop's only one-man-magazine to release a new album monthly for over half a year. By mid 2007, LTG founded a Rock/Rap group currently known as Paranormal, including Percussionist Robert Palma and Guitarist Jack The Zombie. LUCIPHER THE GREAT is a 21 year old Husband and Father, part-time College Student, full-time Worker, and life-long Artist.Musically, LUCIPHER is driven towards the direction of the Industrial/Rock sounds of Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, and Linkin Park delivered with a minimalistic Synthesized/ Electronica/ Ambient interpretation. Lyrically, LTG's word-oriented, rhyme-focused flow is inspired by Eminem, Nas, Rakim, and Big L; while his multi-syllabic, rapid-fire delivery is similar to Big Pun, Canibus, Chino XL, and Saigon.LUCIPHER THE GREAT's self produced, independently released albums are compilations of ten, 100-bar, tracks; composing a 1,000 bar verse."
