I am here for Friends

About Me

www.seanandjeffreviewsouplantation.com - we just got it up and running...check it out.On one hand I'm an oddball. I have little interesting in being "cool" (probably not shocking to anyone having even minor contact with me). I think more than anything else I'm called "such a dork," I and take that as a compliment. Although to be honest, I'm probably more ok with it because I don't think I'm a complete lame-ass type dork. I don't hate normality, I just don't think it always works for me. I like to surf and run, and spend hours on a Saturday at Souplatation. I like to think I'm optimisitc and nice and people are better off for me existing.I also desperately want to combat the growing forces of oppression in the country. A real potential for a dramatic downhill slide exists, but there is still time to set things right. I hope to help bring more information to people so they are better able to make good decisions and stand againt the wrong of the world. My AIM is ChimpInOveralls...I am floating around from time to time.Kinda amusing... ..

My Interests

The bottom of the sea, Souplantation, surfing, running, reading, a refreshing bed bathed in the glow of a really keen tv show, my friends, internet radio, 1996, personal freedom, learning, passing out (from constructive things), NPR programming (it's so much more than news), evolution, politics.

I'd like to meet:

Nice people who are down-to-earth. People who care about what's going on around them or who want to learn more about it. People who aren't webcam spammers. Runners. Surfers. Those who aren't necessarily labeled. I tend to get along with abnormal and crazy people - go figure.

Music:

Elvis, live in concert. Teenage Fanclub - The Concept. 90' alternative. Classic rock. A grab bag of fun and interesting sounds.

Movies:

Baseketball

Television:

The Simpsons. I know lots of people who say they like The Simpsons, but look at me like I'm nuts when I suggest we watch it - what's up with that? The Office, Family Guy, Scrubs, Myth Busters.

Books:

Guns, Germs and Steel - this is a monumental book. I thoroughly enjoyed The Davinci Code and all of Dan Browns books, but it doesn't mean he's not a hack writer.

Heroes:

My bathroom attendant robot - he gives so much and asks so little.I love you, Casserole!

My Blog

Afflicted

So last night my sister and I went to see The Last Kiss in Clairemont.  I was pleasantly surprised to find the theater uncrowded and mellow, especially for a Saturday night.  In fa...

Does Karma exist?

Well, yes and no... I suppose the most common Western interpretation of Karma can be roughly summed up by Earl: "Do good things and good things will happen to you. Do bad things and it will come back ...

Me so hungry

So put another La Jolla Half Marathon in the books.  It was fun, and fulfilling considering that a couple of weeks ago I couldn't walk; I guess my plan worked out.  In some ways, the whole e...

I have a boner...

...for Daylight Saving time.  I frickin' love this stuff; I can't believe things can feel so different in just one day.  And next year it starts one month earlier - sweet!

Sound math, sketchy journalism

A lot of people don't like math, but all-in-all it's a good tool to weed out BS.  Last night I saw a story on the evening news warning women that their men might be too wrapped up in their jobs a...

Nonsensical, part IV

Have you ever watched as the hearts of people you care about break in front of you?  Feelings of helplessness are masked by the forced perspective of your semi-comfortable position on a sing...
