the Lights From Here

Something like a hidden glimmering.

About Me

tLFH are unconcerned with genre classifications and pigeonholes. We play music that excites us, inspires us, and at times has literally saved our lives. We play music that we love, and that we love to share with as many people as possible. Some may find it soothing, others ominous. Some have travelled miles to see us play, and some have simply strolled into their backyards. The five individuals who collectively make up tLFH are friends and family who live, play, stumble and survive in various parts of Los Angeles and beyond.

"Few bands do instrumental rock where the listener is drowned in sound as well as TLFH. Ideal music to listen to with the lights out during a thunderstorm or driving in the desert with the top down." -Radio Free Silver Lake

Band Members: Robert O. plays guitar and keyboards. He wears small pebbles in his left shoe and a black wide-rimmed southern minister's hat. He infiltrates networks of Dungeons and Dragons devotees attempting to deprogram and subvert the heirarchical structure of their organization. At night he sleeps sitting upright in a canoe parked in his driveway.

Andres plays guitar and has fabricated a giant flatulant lung apparatus from spent big rig truck tires. The lung is attached to a small ancient typewriter, esophagus, and red rubber lips made from summer camp rafts. it can generate giant gusts of forceful sputtering wind when a single letter is struck on the type keys.

Kimberly plays guitar and keyboards. She has also invented a "universal alphabet," in which each phoneme (just 25 in all) causes a certain emotional response, and is linked synesthetically with a color. So the phoneme "P," for example, causes "explosion, release of pressure," and is related to the color black outlined in red.

Robert B. plays drums and owns a deboned human head stored in a jar of formaldehyde. This head can be reanimated through the psychic efforts of a hairless cat, which acts as an electric battery after being fed a mysterious black pill.

Mikey B leads an army of soldiers defending the proud people of Bouvetia, riding a pimped out unicorn and dons his great four stringed thunderstick. He is known for his well chisled mane.

Influences: Waves crashing, passing trains, hearts pumping, and the twelve days of Christmas.
