Films (creating them), broadcasting - as it was my major...comedy, writing, reading, traveling, camping, and going out anywhere and everywhere. I love the feeling I get from being in places such as libraries, studios (TV/music), antique shops, museums, caverns, farms, large cities, and small quaint towns. I love openminded, encouraging, talented, and considerate people. The three things I hate most in people? Narrow-mindedness, manipulation, and inconsideration. I hate when I can see through people, and I usually do right away - especially if they're a just a fake mirage to begin with.
This case of 3 seemingly framed teens - "The West Memphis Three" - continues to be one of the most intruiging true stories I've ever heard about. Check it out if you have the time.........."If they don't become a part, they've become apart" Just listen to the gal, honestly. Genius..........
Everything sucks lately...I love Tori Amos...'Boys for Pele' saved me a few times. She's an amazing lyricist, composer, and performer. But I enjoy everything, really. I'm a pretty musical person. Classical music is actually my favorite, but: Nine Inch Nails. Radiohead. Portishead. Mozart. Etta James. John Williams. The Cure. Missy E. Nirvana. The Clash. Yeah Yeah Yea's. John Lennon. U2. The Cars. Fiona Apple. Elvis. Jimmy Hendrix. Billie Holiday. Smashing Pumpkins. Prince. Death Cab for Cutie. R.E.M. Madonna. Tracey Chapman. Tchaikovsky. The Doors. Eminem. Sinatra. The Eagles. Sublime. Danny Elfman. Depeche Mode. Led Zeppelin. Jerry Goldsmith. Sno Patrol. Moby. Elle Fitzgerald. Pearl Jam. Ray Charles. Fleetwood Mac. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Ben Folds/BFfive. The Beatles. Thomas Newman. James Horner is my all-time favorite film composer.
I adored The Fountain, directed by Darren Aronofsky - it's a work of art to behold, but it's a puzzle, so you'll either love it or hate it depending on how much work you're willing to do with that whole "thinking for yourself" thing. Or if you just don't like beautiful films. Braveheart. I like Gibson's eye, and it's clear his heart was in his work. Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt), Office Space...I love Mike Judge's humor- Bevis and Butthead gets me every time, and it never seems to get old. Dumb and Dumber is classic. Goonies, ditto. Reality Bites. The Hours. The Sixth Sense. The Matrix is cool and all. Oh, yeah, and the Lord of the Rings series are gorgeous, you have to appreciate them, even though they bored the hell out of me for some reason, I can't explain it, maybe I was just tired..every time I viewed each of the different films. Anything Jean- Luc Godard...(Alphaville) or Alain Resnais...(Hiroshima, Mon Amor) Quentin Tarentino (Pulp Fiction) ....Douglas Sirk(Imitation of Life)....Hitchcock was a genius (Vertigo). Micheal Moore can do a very good documentary piece, proving his point and beliefs. Even though I was taught to hate them - I'm a sucker for the Speilberg and John Williams (composer) combo (ET, Jurassic Park, Empire of the Sun, Indiana Jones, Close Encounters, Saving Private Ryan) and Ron Howard and James Horner combo. (A Beautiful Mind/Apollo 13/ Cinderella Man).... Stanley Kubrick. Holy shit, how'd I forget Michel Gondry (Enternal Sunsine of the Spotless Mind)Or - MY god... brilliant Tim Burton using Danny Elfman's music....that guy is just beautiful...
No thanks. Mostly every program on TV is of the reality genre lately, which pisses me off. It's truly making people dumber; there's no consistency to it. Shame, watching it fizzle (and, in turn, viewers' brains) into a pile of shit - it was the field I wanted to go into. The trend is not ending anytime soon, sadly. Networks are making too much money now - shamelessly just trying save cash and make money while doing it - not having to pay for writers, or artistic talent whatsoever. Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but why does the media/government seem to want to make us dumbass drones? Who was it that said, "Make the people stupid, and you can make them do anything"? Some dude... When I did watch TV, it was FUNNY SNL, (not what they're attempting now) The X-Files, ER, The Simpsons, South Park, Reno 911, Fraggle Rock, Tales from the Crypt, The Twilight Zone, Today's Special, Mr. ED, Seinfeld. Anything Discovery or History Channel. And yes, I do like the Sopranos.

"I yelled over and asked old Ackley if he wanted to go to the movies. He could hear me all right through the shower curtains, but he didn't answer me right away. He was the kind of guy who hates to answer you right away. Finally he came over, through the goddam curtains, and stood on the shower ledge and asked who was going besides me. He always had to know who was going. I swear, if that guy was shipwrecked somewhere, and you rescued him in a goddam boat, he'd want to know who the guy was that was rowing it before he'd even get in. I told him Mal Brossard was going,He said, "That bastard..all right, wait a second." You'd think he was doing you a big favor."..................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ....... "I felt like a racehorse in a world without racetracks or a champion college footballer suddenly confronted by Wall Street and a business suit, his days of glory shrunk to a little gold cup on his mantel with a date engraved on it like the date on a tombstone. I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree in the story. From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked. One fig was a husband and a happy home and children, and another fig was a famous poet and another fig was a brilliant professor, and another fig was Ee Gee, the amazing editor, and another fig was Europe and Africa and South America, and another fig was Constantin and Socrates and Attila and a pack of other lovers with queer names and offbeat professions, and another fig was an Olympic lady crew champion, and beyond and above these figs were many more figs I couldn't quite make out. I saw myself sitting in the crotch of this fig tree, starving to death, just because I couldn't make up my mind which of the figs I would choose. I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go back, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground by my feet."...................................................... ............................................................ .......

"It doesn’t matter to me any more whether something is bad or wrong. I’ve been too busy with that my whole life. Life is a test, and you learn from the moment things happen to you. How do you react?
