I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

For over thirty five years, the Tibetan Aid Project (TAP) has dedicated its efforts to restoring and preserving Tibet's cultural and spiritual heritage. Working with an all-volunteer staff, the Project has served as a bridge between donors in the West and the Tibetan people.

MISSION STATEMENT
The Tibetan Aid Project helps rebuild, preserve, and perpetuate Tibet's cultural and spiritual heritage for the benefit of the Tibetan people and all humanity.

TO ACHIEVE ITS MISSION, TAP
Provides financial support for monastic centers, lamas, monks, nuns, and lay people. Sponsors ceremonies important to sustaining the lineages of all Tibetan Buddhist schools. Funds production, shipping and distribution of sacred texts, art, and prayer wheels for donation to institutions and individuals. Promotes awareness of Tibet's heritage through publications, presentations, exhibits, and the production and sale of culturally significant items.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

We rely on the support of people like you for donations and volunteer work to fulfill TAP's mission. Your act of generosity today will bring benefit for years to come.

Regarding our Supporters:

TAP donors have helped to support some 675 monasteries and nunneries, schools, and retreat centers of all major lineages. Traditionally the source of education and the arts, monastic centers are the keys to preserving Tibetan culture. Along with our sister organizations, we have helped distribute over 2 million books since 1989. In 2006 alone, TAP contributed funds toward the production of over 416,000 sacred books. It also covered all shipping and distribution expenses for 30 forty-foot cargo containers of books, prayer wheels & art prints. These revered materials contain teachings fundamental to all schools of Buddhism. They will help educate a new generation of scholars and practitioners. For more than 25 years TAP has provided support for traditional ceremonies in all schools of Tibetan Buddhism. For monastic communities and lay people, ceremonies revitalize and strengthen spiritual practice while bringing the blessings of peace into the world. TAP offers educational opportunities to learn about the rich and profound heritage of the Tibetan people. TAP and its international affiliates work together to build awareness of a culture at risk.
