Real name - Yevgeny Gusev. DJ Progress Kiev was born on the 4th of April, 1980, in Kiev, Ukraine. From as young as he can remember, he has had love for music. The youngest child in his family, he was influenced heavily by the sounds of the 80s that his mother was listening to in those days. He always had a passion for clubs and dance music. He first went to a club at the age of 16 and was instantly attracted to the DJ booth and equipment. Through the 90s, he became continuously more attracted to the world of clubs and dance music, paying attention to the local and international Djs and learning their styles. In 1997, he decided to buy his first equipment, beginning his career as a DJ, playing at the parties arranged at his school, hotels, as well as private parties, etc. His record bag began to grow with music from artists like Junior Sanches, Eddie Amador... He started his career with his best friend DJ Mewel. In 1998, he began to work in various bars in a district of the city, well known for its night life. Also in
1998, he visited Kazantip (very popular dance festival in the Crimea) and began to play there. Since 2005 DJ Progress Kiev has played on Kazantip every year, then he decided not to visit this place any more, the reason of it was popularization. His style began to take shape, based on house music - vocal, funky & jazzy house. DJ Progress Kiev has played in different radio broadcasts, numerous night clubs and has taken part in grand festivals for 8 years. DJ Progress Kiev & DJ Mewel are trying together to bring the Ukranian dance culture to the world status. Last time DJ Progress Kiev decided to stop just his dj career and start to compose music. DJ Progress Kiev is considered to be the author of the following projects: Atmospheric Emotions, Progressive Intellect and one of the biggest conceptual projects in the Ukraine - Clever Rhythms (www.cleverrhythms.kiev.ua). At present, Progress Kiev prefers to play intelligent progressive music, like Nickolas Coronell, Arthur Deep, Perry O'neil, etc...
