Snoopy, entered the Peanuts scene on October 4th, 1950, just a few days after the strip’s debut. Snoopy was not always the vivid, crazy personality that he is today, but through Schulz’s continuous work, this famous dog became the star of the show.Snoopy was born on the Daisy Hill Puppy farm along with his seven brothers and sisters, Spike, Andy, Olaf, Marbles, Rover, Molly, and Belle. After first being bought and then returned to the puppy farm, Snoopy was purchased by a young boy named Charlie Brown. The rest is history!!Schulz would always say that the black and white beagle gave the artist a chance to filter all of his imaginative and zany ideas into a character. He regards his master, Charlie Brown, as "that round-headed kid" who brings him his supper dish. He is fearless though prudently cautious about "the cat next door." He never speaks, but he manages to convey everything necessary in facial expressions and thought balloons. A one-man show with superior intelligence and vivid imagination, he has created such multiple personalities as: Joe Cool, World War I Flying Ace, Literary Ace, Flashbeagle, Vulture, Foreign Legionnaire, and the World Famous Attorney. He’s been Charlie Brown’s shortstop, a tournament tennis player, and even a “pro†golfer. But no matter what “face†he may wear, Snoopy has never once failed to bring a light-hearted, funny touch to the comic strip!!! He's touched the hearts of thousands!!
