I like speed. Driving fast, biking fast, anything to get my adrenaline pumping. I'm also naturally curious, and enjoy talking to people and hearing their stories. I'm a documentary filmmaker, and love documenting the world and people around me. I like the unique, the unknown and sometimes even the mundane.
You know who you are.
Magnolia Electric Company, The Cliks, Kimya Dawson, Damien Jurado, Linkin Park, PJ Harvey, Nirvana unplugged, tacky Middle Eastern pop music, some reggae dub and bhangra, undiscovered acoustic stuff, anything with heart and soul.
All Over Me, Startup Dot Com, Control Room, Breaking Away, Jesus' Son, The Idiots, Thirteen, Floating, Diabolique (1954), It will End Up In Tears (Israeli Queer Doc) - there are so many.
I don't have cable, so I only get three fuzzy channels. I'm not a fan of fuzz, so mostly I don't watch much.
Two of my favorite authors are Annie Proulx and Charles Baxter.
My number one hero was and always will be my grandfather. I owe so much to him.
"The truly creative mind, in any field, is no more than this: a human born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. To her, a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god and failure is death.
She/he must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency, she is not really alive unless she is creating." -Pearl S. Buck
