There are 2 kinds of music in this world, good and bad, I like the good: at the top of my list right now: techyfunkapsychodelicelectroprogressivehouse&breakbeats: James Holden (anything on Border Community), Swayzak, Thomas Fehlmann, Gui Boratto, Superpitcher (the entire Kompakt Cologne sound is amazing!), Trentemoller, Santos, Tom Real, alloy mental, roxiller, ils, tipper, Soundex, virus b-23, soteg, elite force and all that rocks downtempojazzambiental: kruder & dorfmeister, thievery corp., funki porcini, coldcut, amon tobin, tosca, hexstatic, dj food, anticon, fila brazilia, anything orb/badorb even orbital (though that's not exactly downtempo), miles davis, shirley horn, dub, there's so much great dt i could go on forever RocknRoll: Radiohead, flaming lips, primus, whitesnake... yeah, i said whitesnake & megadeath. shouldn't megadeath make up for whitesnake? classic rock, i love a good power ballad, even the occasional country ballad. blues, esp. countrified blues like the Ween country album and early, early Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, R.L. Burnside: classical - there's just so much good music and I love it all (except for polka, i can't stand polka, but every once in awhile, i'll sit still for a barbershop quartet)...
oh, so many, Apocalypse Now is an all-time favorite "I love the smell of napalm in the morning.... smells like, victory", Drugstore Cowboy, Life Aquatic, I heart Huckabees, Eternal Sunshine, The Shining (all things Kubrick), Raising Arizona, Fargo, Donnie Darko, Kill Bill v.1 & 2, (anything Tarantino), City of the Lost Children, Delicatessen, Hate, War of the Worlds, Requiem for a Dream, What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Trainspotting, Better Living Through Circuitry, Team America: World Police, all the Hitchcock films, esp. North by Northwest & Vertigo....The list goes on and on.........
Not too much tv, it will rot your brain, I do wind down my day with that 70's show and just shoot me. I love Malcolm in the Middle and the Simpsons...
Tom Robbins (half asleep in frog pajamas is a favorite), Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World by Haruki Murakami (I want to read more of his books). The short stories and poems of Charles Bukowski are always around.
