Two Faces dj

Matías Panella aka Two Faces DJ, born in the providence of Buenos Aires, Argentina,. He starts to get interested in the world of music when starting to play the drums. Jazz, funk, reggae and dub are the styles that transformed this person into a passionate musiclover. A lover of electronic music ever since his days in Argentina and he starts to get interested in the scene of DJ’s when he moves to Barcelona in 2001. But it’s in the year 2003 that he begins his career as a Dj and artistic producer. The style he uses to start to develop his work is house, always keeping the groove in mind like a principal essence. Until he enters in the world of breakbeat and it’s from this moment that he gets his interest in underground music. Two Faces DJ begins his journey where he centres electro breakbeat, always using funk as a base. Ander a sonority typical from London, this DJ starts to form this style of music, almost inexistable at that time. A cycle of parties called “Underground is Not Dead” begins… The temple of the underground of Barcelona, Lola Underspace, located in an old industrial zone called Poblenou, was the best scene to spread out this style. Thanks to the attention of this cycle, clubs like CityHall, Fellini, Sidecar, La Macarena, le Kasbah, Moshima Beach, Kraft (Brazil) or festivals and events like “Cierre de la Juventud Forum de Barcelona”, Caprices festival in Switzerland, Two faces Dj has shared billboard with Mandrax, Derrick May, Quenum, Alex Attías and Dandy Jack. In 2004 enters like resident dj in Moshima Beach, a bar located at the beach of Marbella in Barcelona, putting a vibe to the evenings with deep-minimal, electro-funk and acid jazz. In the summer of 2006 starts “Ladie’s Night” with the residence of this dj in CityHall, mythic discotheque in Barcelona where dj’s like Jeff Mills, Lauren Garnier, Richie Hawting, Marco Carola, 2020 vision sound system, Paco Osuna have staged the scene among others in a long listo f international and nacional artists. The latest production of Two Faces DJ is called NOCAUT! Dj Herr, Red Moon and Martin eNe are the three other Dj’s that together make this format of parties where the atmosphere and the musical variety are the top objects of this event. With an itinerant carácter, NOCAUT! is caracterizad by the decoration, inspired by martial arts. Their sessions varies between deep-minimal, electro-house and breakbeat, adapted to the sound of every dance hall. In 2007 begins “Pig’s and Diamonds” in City Hall. A party where the electro-break is the main protagonist making an incredible intensity in every set. Evolutionating, creating, learning, resisting and most of all….making people dance, are the objects of Two Faces DJ.
MatÌas Panella (aka Two Faces dj), nace en la Provincia de Buenos Aires (Argentina). Comienza a interesarse por el mundo de la musica cuando empieza a estudiar baterÌa. Se apasiona por la m·sica negra, jazz, funk, reggae y dub son los estilos que transformaron a esta persona en un melÛmano incansable. Amante de la escena electronica desde su pais de origen, se empieza a interesar por la escena de dj’s cuando se radica en Barcelona en el 2001. Es en el 2003 cuando comienza su carrera como dj y productor artÌstico. El estilo que adopta para comenzar a desarrollar su trabajo es el house, siempre con el groove como esencia principal. Hasta que entrar en el mundo del breakbeat, y en ese momento es donde se interesa por el underground. Two Faces dj comienza un viaje donde se centra en el electro breakbeat, siempre con el funk como base. Bajo una sonoridad muy londinense, este dj intenta fomentar este estilo de m·sica, casi inexistente en Barcelona. El ciclo de fiestas llamado “Underground is not dead! ” en el templo del underground barcelones, Lola UnderSpace(ubicado en la antigua zona industrial llamada Poblenou), fue el mejor escenario para difundir este estilo. Gracias a la repercusiÛn de este ciclo, lugares como el City Hall, Fellini, Sidecar, Macarena, Le Kasbah, Mochima Beach, Kraft (Brasil),o festivales y eventos como “Cierre del festival de la juventud Forum Barcelona”, “Caprices Festival” en Suiza, compartiendo cartelera con Mandrax, Derrick May, Quenum, Alex Attias y Dandy Jack. En el 2004 entra como residente en Mochima Beach, bar ubicado en la playa Marbella de Barcelona, ambientando la tarde con deep-minimal, electro-funk y acid jazz. En el verano del 2006 comienza “Ladies Night” y la residencia de este dj en el “City Hall”, mÌtica discoteca de Barcelona, donde han pasados dj como Jeff Mills, Lauren Garnier, Richie Hawting, Marco Carola, 2020 vision sound system, Paco Osuna, Fernando Ferrari, entre una larga lista de artistas internacionales y nacionales. La ultima producciÛn de Two Faces dj se llama Nocaut!. Junto a otros 3 dj, Dj Herr, Red moon y MartÌn eNe crean un formato de fiesta donde la ambientación y la variedad musical son los objetivos de esta fiesta. Con carácter itinerante, Nocaut! se caracteriza por la decoración dirigida a los deportes de lucha. Sus sesiones varÌan entre el deep-minimal, electro-house y breakbeat, adapt·ndose al sonido de cada sala. Evolucionando, creando, aprendiendo, resistiendo, fusionando y por sobre todas las cosas, haciendo bailar a la gente que es el objetivo principal de Two Faces dj.
