Tom Lanigan

Tom Lanigan was born in Dublin Ireland in 1977. After spending the first sixteen years of his life in the town of Skerries. He immigrated to Providence, Rhode Island in the early 90’s and founded the rock band “Screaming Under Stars” with whom he released two CD’s. The band enjoyed a string of successful shows in the New England area playing with acts such as the Commitments, The Slip, Black 47, The Machine, NRBQ, and Guster among others.After losing some key members to the respectable life he decided to scale down the sound and spent the next couple of years in the acoustic duo Lanigan & Fogell where he honed not only his songwriting skills and stage presence, but also his love of Irish ballads, folk and rebel songs.It was during this time that he met Bill McElaney, a twenty plus year veteran of the Northeast Irish music scene, and before long joined Bill’s band “Revels Glen” full time.Since then Tom Lanigan has averaged over 250+ performances annually playing for thousands of people in clubs, bars, radio, television and theatre. Having released four Revel’s Glen albums in the last three years Tom has moved on and started the Tom Lanigan Band featuring Tom Shields and Rob Fogell. In this endeavor the trio continues playing their unique interpretation of Irish ballads and rebel songs as well as their own compositions.
