About Me
Isabella Owen Perelman -- musically, just Isabella -- was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil--mother, Uruguayan, father, American--but grew up and has spent much of her adult life in and around Washington, DC. She has been singing in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French since childhood and been dancing to Brazilian samba since before birth.As a songwriter, Isabella's style is eclectic, with elements from folk and roots (American, Latin American, British, and European), classical, country, American standards, and jazz. She plays guitar.She is a graduate of St. John's College in Annapolis, MD, and studied voice and music at American University and elsewhere.
Isabella is an active member of the Songwriters Association of Washington. When not engaged in songwriting, performing, and recording, she also works as an editor.
