Bubble bubble....toil and trouble....

About Me

I turned to DJing a decade ago because I loved electronic music and wanted to figure out what makes a great dance record. I've had the privilege of meeting many people in the industry that inspire me daily, not only with my DJing, but to continue my production efforts. I'm privileged to have grown up with this generation, and quite frankly I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
You want to know a little more about me, visit my music webpage, DJ Satori , and you can also check out some of my photos on Flickr and movies on YouTube .

My Interests

SAILING....this is something I can't do enough of. I'd love to get my own sailboat and cruise from Annapolis down to the Carribean for a couple of weeks.
I love music of all forms; I don't necessarily buy everything I hear, but I'm constantly on the look out for new and innovative sound. At the same mark, I try to incorporate my personality into the music that I produce.

I'd like to meet:

Chill muthafuckers out there from every walk of life. A nice girl that will like me for me.

Here's who's checking me out :D

Create your own visitor map!

Music:

Funk, Soul, R&B, Hip-hop, Electronic music of all forms; especially techno, tech-house, house, european and australian breaks, some drum and bass.
Also, check out my production crew, who've been throwing down the best techno D.C. has seen in years at Mixed Signals
Other oddities? I love opera and the symphony with all the rich cacophany of sound melded into one beautiful piece. I sneak in punk when I get in the mood, love Reggae and Dub, still listen to "alt" rock (which is now mainstream.)
I love classic rock; especially the instrumental talent of earlier Pink Floyd. Moog was my first album and I remember sitting for days listening to beeps and clicks and just creating the filler in my head.
Dislikes......hair bands, some other braindead 80's music, though there are a lot of hidden gems from the 80's (all ripe for some updating in the current decade ;)
Music is a gift!

Movies:

Absolute favorite? Akira Kirosawa's Seven Samurai. The only four hour black and white film with subtitles that's worth every second of it.
Others? Blow; Clockwork Orange; Pulp Fiction; old film noir flicks, especially Citizen Kain; Swingers; The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, Chasing Amy, Clerks, Apocolypse Now, A Few Good Men, Traffic, Syriana, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Run Lola Run, Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Deep Cover, The Hudsucker Proxy, Four Rooms, Boogie Nights, Maverick, Braveheart, The Godfather, Taxi Driver...oh this can go on forever

Television:

Samurai Champloo; Ghost in the Shell; Battlestar Galactica
Yes, I'm a sci-fi and anime nerd....Luckily I have a Tivo so I can compress it all into an afternoon.
Favorite quotes:
"Ho is a strong term. Right now I'm somewhere between anatomical sales associate and high maintenance girlfriend."
"Let us pray the pimp's prayer....Lord, please pray for your soul of this bitch and guide my pimp hand and make it strong lord so that she might learn a ho's place"

Books:

Snow Crash; Cryptonomichron (both by Neal Stephenson). How can you not like a book where the main character's name is "Hiro Protagonist?"

Heroes:

Les Paul, Eric Clapton, Robert Moog, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Earl Warren, the doctor who saved my life when I was seven and everybody in my old Army National Guard unit that is serving in Iraq.
