My name is Louise and I live Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, with my husband and our two kids. I run the cake weblog called CakeJournal.com !
The very first cake I made was a three tired wedding cake for our wedding back in 2002. But another two years went by before I got really hooked. Since then I have spend a lot of my time on my passion - cake making and decoration. One of the main things that fasinates me about making cakes is the possibility to build up amazing edible works of art.
My journey into the world of cake creation began in 2004 with one of my friends asking me to come along on a sugar flower decorating course. Later on I also attended: Bas relief, run-out and figure modelling courses. Attending these courses gave a valuable insight in the use of tools and sugar paste ability.
Lately I have used a lot of time searching the Internet for great cake-sites as inspiration and finding online cake decoration supply shops. I read sugarcraft books and magazines and spend time experimenting in the kitchen. In November 2006, I went to the Birmingham NEC and saw the Sugarcraft and Cake decorating show. It was a great experience.
After I started blogging six month ago I figured it would be a great way for me to share my passion with the rest of the world. That is how CakeJournal.com came around, hope you will enjoy it as much as me.
