Albadore Soundsystem Radio Program every Thursday!

About Me

Albadore's dubbed out electronic...errr...stuff...has its roots in the decaying sprawl of Flint, Michigan and the ridiculously varied record collection of its founder, Michael Absher. From the Beatles to Pink Floyd to Lee "Scratch" Perry to the Orb to Throbbing Gristle and all points between, nearly everything is grist for Albadore's spaced-out grooves.
Michael started out in the early 90s with Bruce Stedron and Rob Mulcahy in the four-track power trio SSG, which morphed into the ludicrously large and fluid SSG Radio Project, a loose assemblage of local musicians who performed a once a month hour-long improvisational experimental music concert on public radio station WFBE-FM, incorporating musique concrete, techno, hip-hop, ambient music, dub, industrial noise, psychedelic rock, jazz, and Lord knows what else into a sometimes sublime and sometimes unbearable stew, balancing right on the edge every time.
Due to a surprising appetite for noisy psychedelic freak-out music in Flint at the time, SSG spawned a live performance arm called SSG Soundsystem, which set to hypnotising and confusing audiences all over the Flint area for a few years. Eventually it was discovered that there were a few other bands called "SSG" already, so a name change was in order. A remarkably creative mispronounciation by a drugstore clerk of "Absher" led to the name "Albadore", which, contrary to popular belief, is not a kind of tuna.
Over a dozen years on from the birth of SSG, Michael Absher continues to create electronic music with a revolving group of collaborators that has been downloaded and presumably to some extent enjoyed by people all over the world. Especially in the Netherlands and Russia. Hmmm. Go figure.
Albadore Soundsystem Radio, Thursday nights at 9 pm!!! Recently recorded and archival original electronic and ambient music by the Albadore collective, blended with sound effects, environmental recordings and sound bites into a psychedelic soundscape that takes you on a definite journey into indefinate waters. Join us for experimental radio mixed live and freaky from Flint, Michigan, with your host DJ Michael A.MySpace.com/Dreamentia1
