My brother, Cpl. Ron Payne Jr. gave his life on May 7, 2004 while serving in Afghanistan with the United States Marine Corps. Since that life changing event I have recognized the need for sibling focused support groups. There are many programs that target the family in general, and most are amazing programs that you will find shown on this page from time to time. However, the need to connect to another sibling is so very overwhelming and important! The need to communicate with a person that understands EXACTLY what you are going through is so very important. It does not matter how long it has been since the day you lost your brother or sister it matters how much support you get to help you get through it. This program is NOT just for those who have lost their loved ones in Iraq or Afghanistan, it is for all who have losed someone while serving in the military. SOFT is based on providing unconditional and complete understanding to the siblings who have thought for so long no one "gets it"!The name was created through the memory of my own brothers example in life. The letters stand for Siblings Of Fallen Troops. My brother spent his life protecting and loving his friends and family this program is in loving memory of him and continuing what he spent his life doing. . . loving and giving to others.
