Righteous Productions started off by working under Purple Man Promotions back in 1994... staying loyal to Purple Man Promotions. Righteous looked up to Purpleman as a mentor, staying loyal to him til this day, which seems very rare nowadays, where now no one knows how to give credit where its due or give credit to who helped them get to where they are.
Righteous Productions has successfully promoted the most reggae shows than all other promoters, combined, in the bay area combined. Also the only promoter to bring artists like Sean Paul, Supercat and the first Promoter to bring acts like Tony Matterhorn, King Addies, Killamanjaro, David Rodigan, Mighty Crown and the list could go on...
We started the reggae vibes in Ybor City with clubs including, but not limited to: Prana, Frankies Patio (where we brought Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Adonai, David Rodigan, Killamanjaro, Tony Touch, Tony Matterhorn, King Addies, Lion King aka Babyface) ... the original Club Turbulence (where we brought: Bounty Killa, Cocoa Tea, Capleton, Mr. Vegas, Sean Paul, Red Ratand T.O.K)These were all the shows done by Righteous Rroductions that left our imprint on Friday night vibes in Ybor City, and Saturday night vibes which originally started at Patricks on Bearss, then to Club Atlanta. At Hollywood Nights we brought Sounds like Black Cat, Bodyguard, Stone Love, Metro Media, Big Belly Sky Juice, Travelers and many more... with a dance each and every week, not to forget the original Club 901 (now 112) before the vibe moved to the Harbour club. Thursday night's reggae vibe was created in November 2004 at Club Mirage and was then followed by Saturday nights there as well.
This speaks mainly of reggae because Righteous' 5th Element started out as a "Sound" geared towards the hardcore island vibe. In 2002 next to DJ Kalil and The Article Babysam, DJ Christion was added to target a more diverse vibe, adding some hip hop flavor, along the way DJ Shizm and DJ Shotgunn were also added, making the 5th Element complete and diverse in every aspect possible, being able to hold down the most elite clubs to the most ghetto. A little time went by and Dj Kalil went to explore new career options, along the way Dj Christion decided, with all he had been taught through Righteous and the rest of the dj's, that he would take those skills elsewhere. Through the years and through the changes in the 5th Element, it is now 2007 and still holding strong and loyal are DJs Shizm and Shotgunn added along the way are DJ Cnazte, DJ Chill and Mr. Myke... still the most diverse dj's in the bay! I (Sabrina) have also been here since 2002, trying to hold it down until the big man gets back. I will be in charge until then.
