I'm interested in a lot of things, I'd love to live in Edinburgh, to discover some secret garden in the centre of the city, or treasure in a random junk shop, without getting dinner invitations from scary Morrocan owners who want you to spend Christmas with them, even though they are muslim. In general I pass time reading, writing, listening to conversations and occasionally participating. I like to knit and I have recently learned crochet, which is fascinating as you are taking a long thread and knotting it into a shape of some kind. Currently I just do flowers as they are small and easy. I love listening to music, especially while engaged in some other activity like cooking ( which I love) or cleaning ( much less so) or just sitting on a train watching the scenery pass by. Trains are great! Also I like to paint, to send colourful letters to special people, to learn new skills, to travel, to take pictures, to wander through galleries, to drink tea, to pet cats ( I'm really very good at that), to dress up, to listen to my lovely friends making rackets, to beat boys in arm wrestles, to go to the beach in NZ, to bike, to overcome things, like getting stuck halfway up a small mountain in a skirt in the rain, and manouver myself down cold mountain streams, to rave about how great my sister is, to give away flowers, to lie in meadows, to take sunbaths, to make things and to be happy.
Anyone with goodness flowing out of them like syrup. People with accents. I like finding affinities in strangers, learning new things through good conversations and watching movies, then going somewhere to discuss them afterward. So it's nice to find others who like the same thing. Also I'm really impressed by multiple lingual people.
beacause WE! ARE!YOUR friends, you'll never be alone again so come on, come on, come one, come on..
I just saw In my fathers den, it's such an amazing film that I decided to restructure my whole list of movies. It was so dense and rich, so much to think about. Also I recently saw The fearless Vampire killers, in fact I saw it twice in two days it was that good!. Other recent additions to my long list of watchable movies are... the sticky fingers of time, The edukators, Muholland drive, Naked Luch and The safety of objects. The next film I think I will watch will be Lickerish quartet. Ok it was Lickerish quartet, but I watched it with the sound off and to a soundtrack of turkish psycedelic music and Peter's commentary. I think this improved it. Also I have just seen Being Julia again. Avoid Children of Men, but see The Aristocrats
Ha! I just saw the latest Doctor Who episode last night, so brilliant. Torchwood is improving with every episode and Carnivale is fantastic! I love it when you have programmes that you want everyone to see like Black Books, The Mighty Boosh, Look around you, Nighty Night and Spaced.
Angela Carter is my new idol! Alice in Wonderland, Perfume,Victor Hugo's hunchback of Notre Dame, great for reading in Paris, Anything by Anias Nin, Dianne Wynne Jones, Neil Gaiman, Iris Murdoch, Margaret Atwood, Agatha Christie, Margaret Mahy, Vladimir Nabokov, Tolstoy, Art Speigelman, Shaun Tan, Shirley Hughes, Trout Fishing in America, Oscar Wilde,Jonothan Safran Foer, Andrew Lang, Wind in the Willows, I aspire to read Dr Jeckle (sp?)and Mr Hyde in Edinburgh and Ulysses in Dublin
You will be sucked dry by a leech. I'd stay away
from swimming holes, and stick to good old
cement. Even if it does hurt like hell when
your toe scrapes the bottom.
What horrible Edward Gorey Death will you die?
