He is all-wise and powerful. Jesus is His name; Though everything is changeable, My God remains the same. My God knows all that's happening; Beginning to the end; His presence is my comfort; He is my dearest Friend. When sickness comes to weaken me, To bring my head down low, I call upon my mighty God; Into His arms I go. When circumstances threaten to rob me of my peace; He draws me close unto His breast, Where all my strivings cease. When my heart melts within me, and weakness takes control; He gathers me into His arms, He soothes my heart and soul. The great "I AM" is with me. My life is in His hand. The "Son of the Lord" is my hope. It's in His strength I stand. I refuse to be defeated. My eyes are on my God; He has promised to be with me, As through this life I trod. I'm looking past all my circumstances, To Heaven's throne above; My prayers have reached the heart of God I'm resting in His love. I give God thanks in everything. My eyes are on His face; The battle's His, the victory mine; He'll help me win the race.

FreeCommentTags.com [RISEN WITH CHRIST] If you then are risen with Christ, seek those things which are from above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God.As a child of God our decisions are to be based on things from above and not things as we see them down here in this life. Our motives and our intentions are to be dominated from above as opposed to here in this life and of this world. If we are risen with Christ, we owe Him all that we are because of what He did for us at Calvary. Jesus did more than die on the cross; He died in our place; He died to pay the penalty for our sin.If we are risen with Christ as pictured in baptism, then we belong to Him and the decisions that we make ought to reflect His guidance in what we do and where we go. We need to strive to "seek those things which are from above." Christ sits at the right hand of the Father in Heaven and He sees all that we do; He hears all that we say and He knows everything that we think. When our thoughts are on things from above, then our actions will follow and God will be glorified and our lives will reflect His glory as He works in our lives.We are to set our affections on things from above and not on things on the earth. It is so easy to let our priorities get out of control as we work to "have things". There is absolutely nothing wrong with having things. We have to be careful to make sure that what we have does not have us. It is so easy to let what we have take priority over our lives and then we fall in danger of wanting more things because "things" seem to be the measure of a man's life today.When we keep our eyes focused on things from above, our possessions do not take control of us. When we keep our eyes on the Lord, we do not have to worry about what our lives are going to be like because God will meet our need and take care of our lives. When our focus is on things on the earth, then our lives are going to suffer because our focus is in the wrong place. When our focus is on things of this world, then things will take the place of God and that is the first step to letting what we have take control of us.Proverbs 3:1-2 says, "My daugther, forget not My law but let your heart keep My commandments; for the length of days and long life and peace shall they add to you. We set our minds on things from above through obedience to the law and by keeping God's commandments. As we set our minds on things from above through prayer, long life and peace shall be give to us by God. Isn't this the real goal of everything that we want and do in life? May our goal today be to "seek things from above!"

I am thankful that you have not given me a spirit of fear, but you have given me power, love, and a sound mind. Although fear tries to race down the hallways of my mind and throw its graffiti on every wall and surface of my life, I will not fear because you are with me. I know that you will never leave me nor forsake me; therefore, I have confidence that you will annihilate all of fears' tactics against me. I appreciate the sacrifices that you made when you were inflicted so that I would not be hooked on the fear of death. Transform me, Lord, so that I may be hooked on your love before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself T)What thrills me about this verse is that the angel gave a pattern for you and me to follow in order for our prayers to be heard. Knowing that I am heard comforts me and encourages me to believe that my heard prayer is also my answered prayer.Even when the answer may be different than what I had hoped for, that does not bother me. If God does not answer my prayers in the way I wanted, that simply says to me that He knows something about the situation that I don’t know. Or that what I am asking for, if answered that way, could limit His plan for my life. His plan is always better than what I can see or know.What I have learned is that God’s plan and thoughts for me are often higher and better than what I thought possible, so I have chosen to pray to understand what God knows is best.That is how I humble myself. I used to think I knew everything that would make me happy. Now I rest in His setting the pace and the goal.
