Telmo Marques

I was born in 1963 Aug 21st in Porto (Portugal). I teach piano jazz, music analysis, arrangement and composition techniques at the ESMAE – Escola Superior de Musica e das Artes do Espectáculo – Porto Polytechnic Institute. I attended the Oporto Conservatory of Music where I studied piano and composition among others with Fernanda Wandschneider, Cândido Lima and Fernando Lapa. I did further studies with Jean Martin, Carlos Cebro, Fernando Puchol, Paul Trein, Robert Houlihan, ... . I graduated in piano at the ESMAE (Prize Eugénio de Almeida – best classification) and completed a Master of Arts in Music Education at the University of Surrey Roehampton (Great-Britain). I've taken part in many recordings of portuguese artists as pianist, arranger and/or producer. (Please, see "Band Members" here on the left). As a composer I have contributed to a wide range of music-theatre pieces, documentaries, and hundreds of commercials (please, listen to the "Porto 2001").
