Eight of Spades is a rock n roll band based in and around Paris, France.
Born in March of 2004 from several bands including Ebola, Maximum Boycott, and Pentaguns, the band is the union of experimental musicians playing in Punk, Hardcore and Metal combos for more than 10 years.
As a result of high energy and fury, a self titled demo was released in 2004.
From this release the song "We Are Eight of Spades" appeared on the american compilation "Break Your Face" (Facefist Records, USA), featuring the only french band among american and english combos.
Since 2005, the band has played tons of raging shows with bands like The Unseen, The Bones, Deadline, Unfit, Peter Pan Speedrock, Banane Metalik, Sickness, and many others.
The first self produced album "Look In My Eyes" was born in September 2006, introducing a mix of Punkrock, Hardcore, Metal and last but not least : Rock'n'roll !!!!
The visual of this cd was especially beautiful, including photo shoots of Virginie Notte, from Modern Pin Up. The cover concept and layout was by JPouille and Syl. This cd met with real success in the media and press with good articles in magazines like Hard n heavy and Versus magazine.
In the beginning of 2007, there was a change in the line up, with the departure of Seb (drums) and Kris (bass).
The new line up (JPouille on lead vocals and guitar, Jeff on guitar, Peter on bass, and Speed on drums and second vocals) worked intensely on the old songs and created some new ones, resulting in much more aggressive and powerful rock'n'roll !!!!
A new adrenaline is ready to burst on stage! The shows are stronger than ever. Eight of Spades are always looking for new dates to play and any enquiries from serious record labels are welcome.
