About Me

Hi, I'm DJ Gigi aka Gigi Dred...I began my DJ career in the Summer of 2002...I was taught to spin CD's until I met DJ Dale Da Dred @ the Rox in the Spring of 2003...DJ Dale took me under his wing & taught me to spin vinyl...I've played @ various clubs throughout San Diego, including The Rox, Red Circle, On Broadway, Faces, Ole Madrid, PB Bar & Grill, Decos, Montage, Aubergine, Luna Lounge, Club Caribe, Dussini Lounge, Sidebar, Visions, Numbers, High Tide Cafe, Sam's by the Sea, Rich's, Henry's, Onyx Room, & Excelsior...I've also played in Las Vegas @ Myst-Treasure Island & Rum Jungle-Mandalay Bay...I've played alongside with DJ Diamond (Playboy Playmate), DJ Malia (Earthbound Radio), DJ Rage (Z-90), DJ J-Smoove (Z-90), DJ Bakspin, DJ Allkutz & Mikeski (Impact Productions...I've played @ celebrity parties for Terrell Davis (Denver Broncos), Kirk Morrison (Oakland Raiders), Kassim Osgood & Michael Turner (SD Chargers) Trey Songz, Lyfe Jennings, Yung Joc, & Heather 'Krazy' Crawford (Flava of Love)...I feel blessed everyday that I've been given this opportunity to do something I love...I'm a kid at heart & always will be, ask any of my friends...I'm also a firm believer of karma and, basically, what goes around - comes around...SO, plain & simple, I treat people the way that I would want to be treated. :-) PLEASE VISIT OUR WEDDING WEBSITE: WWW.THEKNOT.COM/OURWEDDING/ GIGIALCALA&DALEDORSETTI edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4

My Interests

I love wearing t-shirts & jeans...I love having fun...I love going to Tajima for spicy ramen after dj-ing @ the club...I love things nice & simple...I love the sound of laughter, especially from my niece, Abby (she ALWAYS puts a smile on my face, no matter what)...I love going to D&B's & kicking Dale's a$$ in Arctic Thunder...I love road trips...I love partying in Vegas...I love sleeping in...I love SHOES...I love my family...

I LOVE music, especially R & B (Janet Jackson, Common, Goapele, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Donell Jones, Prince, Michael Jackson, Raphael Saadiq, Lucy Pearl, Tribe, Luther Vandross, Ne-yo, Maxwell, D'Angelo, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Sade, Rakim, India Arie, SWV, etc...the list goes on & on)...I LOVE dropping a record that gets the crowd to go "WHOA!!!"..

Movies:

I love chick flicks/feel good/underdog movies (Love & Basketball, The Best Man, The Wood, Two Can Play That Game, Brown Sugar, Brothers, Soul Food, Honey, You Got Served, Rocky series, Friday Night Lights, Stomp the Yard, etc...), old 80's classics (Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Beverly Hills Cop, Breakin', Electric Boogaloo, Beat Street, etc...)& action films (Face Off, Bad Boys, Fast & Furious, Triple XXX, Con Air, The Rock, etc...) I can go on for days...

Television:

I love watching TV, especially reality shows. I get sucked in so easily to MTV's The Hills, Rob & Big, Laguna Beach...I love Friends, Smallville, Everybody Loves Raymond, Heroes, Dirt, BET, ESPN, NFL Network...I love the CHARGERS (shouts to my boys)...I love the SACRAMENTO KINGS (Go, Mike Bibby even though they're sucking right now)...

Books:

I love books that stimulate my mind & keep me entertained...

Heroes:

My parents are my heroes for a lot of different reasons. My brother & sis-in-law for just being there. My circle of friends (you know who you are), who have taken on the challenge of putting up w/ my craziness, & my main man, DALE DA DRED, for being so courageous during an even CRAZIER time. I LOVE YOU ALL!!! I love that I have such a crazy mix of friends...I love my man, Dale G. Dorsett & I can't wait to get married...7/7/07, baby!!!
