Born into an era of shifting genres and a bloodline steeped in music, J. Caesar is quickly becoming the modern day link between mainstream music and Indie innovation. Referred to by Shirley Caesar (J.’s aunt and 11-time Grammy winner) as the “new generation of Caesarâ€, J. blends soul influence with hip hop tracks and memorable arrangements. No track is ever the same as the one before, or the one to follow. He attributes much of his diversity in sound to his early exposure to varied artists in all different genres, including The Beatles, Donny Hathaway, Beethoven and Bob Marley.
With the January 2007 release of his independent debut album “Memoirs of a Disenchanted Optimistâ€, J. took Europe by storm. London, Hamburg, and Cologne were among the cities where audiences, impressed with J.’s undeniably smooth voice, spontaneity and natural charm, were left dazzled by his live performances. J. is currently writing, collaborating and producing with a wide array of artists on both the national and international music scenes. A large portion of J.’s diverse fan base has been cultivated via the internet, where he is spreading his unique sound with online album sales, and iTunes downloads.
Gone are the days of the one-hit wonders and cookie cutter artists. For J. Caesar and his fans, this is the beginning of a beautiful voyage through life and sound.
