About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4I'm a fun-loving person who loves life and just wants to be treated fairly, like everyone else. I take the good with the bad, all in stride. Everybody has a bad day/week/month every once in a while. It's part of the life cycle, as is learning - a constant process.I have various interests, including many genres of music (I call myself a musical mutt), movies (not so much horror though), and people in general - they are fascinating!. Being fairly open-minded, I tend to get along with several different people with different opinions. I may not agree with what everyone says, but I'll listen, and occaionally challenge or further question. I'm always up to learning something new about the world around me. I promise, I'm not boring, once you get to know me. I'm just a deep thinker. On that note, I hope to get my Associate's degree in Business by next summer and start my Bachelor's degree in English, with a minor in Philosophy! And, when I grow up, I want to have a Master's Degree in Library Science and have a directorship at a library or work for a library computer software/program company as a trainer or similar position. I hope to achieve this by the time I'm 45! We'll see what happens!! Only God knows!Although I'm a native of South Dakota, I feel I've become quite southernfied. My favorite word is "ya'll." Carbonated beverages are no longer "pop," they are "cokes" or "sodas." And dang! I never knew there were so many vegetables, especially beans and peas! I love it! The ham hocks and bacon in my beans took a little getting used to, but now it's just part of living. Another thing, who knew spinach had so many cousins! Suffice it to say, Mom would have no trouble getting me to eat my vegetables!I tend to learn a lot about people and the world on the job, as well as meet several people. I Love it!Enough said?If not, here's a couple songs to shed more light on how I view life or how I strive to see it:Its My Life

My Interests

Helping with community and college events, reading, fun people, good guitar and drum playing, candlelight, chocolate, the beach, good company, good conversation, education, relaxing, good food, air shows, arts festivals, rodeos, talking during "free time" on my cell phone to family and friends around the country.AND... I LOVE TO LAUGH!!!These two videos are of Josh Blue, last summer's Last Comic Standing winner. Another video I couldn't embed from YouTube that truly shows his best stuff, can be found at this link:( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh-xOzrEvvw )Now, without further ado....Josh Blue!!

I'd like to meet:

Tough question! So many for so many reasons, but I'll try to narrow it down... Cher, Celine Dion and Tina Turner. They are all very strong women. Cher will wear anything I'm afraid to wear and Celine never forgot her roots (family) once she became famous. Tina got out and made it on her own, despite Ike's previous tormenting. Leonard Nimoy - there'll never be another like "Spock"! Ok, any Star Trek actor/actress, they all rock! I could name more, but I'd just bore you. Might I add: Josh Blue!! He's so FUNNY!!!!

Music:

First of all, Music is my life - love, pain, celebration, memories, fun times, family, theme songs (songs I claim as my life themes), relaxation, something to sing to while I drive, adrenaline pumper, culture experiences, my own cultural roots. I truly believe that music is a universal language!!Music (classical, Celtic, world, rock, pop, r&b, jazz, alternative, country, bluegrass, and a few other assorted genres).Favorite bands/artists include: Dayfall, Sent By Ravens, From Never, Billy Currington, Cher, Celine Dion, Sean Paul, Cross Fade, Nickelback, Creed, Rhianna, Papa Roach, Black-eyed Peas, Eminem, Emerson Drive, Rascall Flatts, Lonestar, Shania Twain, Enya, Celtic Woman specials on PBS, as well as others. Like I said, I'm a musical mutt.

Movies:

Movies (drama, comedy, thrillers, romance, romantic-comedy, animated, sci-fi). Again, too many favorites for too many reasons, but here goes -- Star Trek IV - c'mon, Spock cussed for the first time! And the whales! It was hilarious! What Women Want, all Hannibal movies, most Disney, Captain Correlli's Mandolin, Lord of the Rings trilogy and Harry Potter (all). Here's something just for fun... Television:

Any CSI and other crime investigation shows, sit-coms (i.e. Friends, Steve Harvey, King of Queens), some PBS specials are good too! Especially "Celtic Woman"! Even the Brit-coms are fun!

Books:

Of the books I've ever read, mostly in High School, I'd have to say that "Brave New World" and "The Scarlet Letter" are a couple of my favorites. Also, an occasional romance novel with a historical or sci-fi concept will catch my attention.

Heroes:

My sister; anybody helping women and children get out of abusive homes; friends "who are there"; people who stand for justice and truth and aren't afraid to be their own person.
