About Me

.....Drummer/Producer - (Marcus)Marc Joseph was born and raised in a hotbed of rhythm - New Orleans. He soon developed a reputation as a versatile and dynamic drummer in the Big EZ. There he studied on scholarship under the wing of infamous jazz patriarch, Ellis Marsalis @ The University of New Orleans while paying his dues in the city’s notorious nightclub scene. Marcus has toured/performed/recorded with many unique musicians including.... The New Orleans All Stars, George Porter Jr.(The Meters) Herbie Hancock, Sharon Leger (evangeline), Walter"Wolfman"Washington, Brint Anderson and The Bourbon Brass Band. In Los Angeles Marcus won the Ludwig "Millenium Drum Off" competition and soon became a driving force behind "MTV PIANO BOY" Jon Ernst as well as a critically acclaimed eclectic rock group PHINEAS. Later he became a featured member of Smile recording artists THE ANDERSONS and teen sensation JESSIE PAYO's band. Today he can be heard with many varied artists on any given night. THE CHINESE CLASSICAL ENSEMBLE combines traditional eastern melodies with western rhythms. His own ensemble "MOJO TRIAGE" combines free improv with modern and vintage instrumentation. SEE VIDEO CLIPS BELOW... As a multi-instrumentalist, Marcus has produced numerous projects from Kenwood, JVC & Ozomatli productions to a wide array of American singer/songwriters. Including ABC’s Kevin Michael Richardson. On percussion he's accompanied African Yoruba master - Ayo Adeyemi and THE UCLA WORLD ARTS PROJECT. His Film & TV appearances include FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS & BOSTON LEGAL. Marcus stays involved in many music outreach programs through PROMARK and the VFW. He currently resides in Los Angeles, Ca. and maintains a private teaching practice always accepting eager students. His personal studio, HOLLYHOUSE is networked to many of Hollywood's finest recording facilities bringing togethor all kinds of new talent and technology. Chick Webb, Max Roach, Tony Williams, BUDDY, GADD, Vinnie Colaiuta, Billy Cobham, Johnny Vidacovich, Jeff Boudreaux, Terry Bozzio, Earl Palmer & Junkyard Dog just to name a few drummers.
