A 'few' of my favorite things: Loitering with my friends. Tea - chai, green etc... Interesting conversations that last for hours. Concerts. Jamming. Kicking back and just strumming an acoustic guitar. Traveling. Hugs. Photography. Art galleries. Drawing and painting. Filming movies. Playing cards. Musicals and theater. Fishing. The ocean. Chinatown. The PNW. Guitar stores, small ones, big ones, doesn't matter! Air drumming. Tangents! Overthinking things... That's pretty much what I do...
People who are open-minded, who like to chill and talk, and aren't afraid to just go crazy and have fun in public. Musicians are always good. I always have some musical project going on.
Firstly, I must say that music is a significant part of my life. I have experience playing many musical instruments, though mainly the bass. I've been in quite a few bands in my time. My current band is wanderlust... check us out at www.myspace.com/wanderlustrock
Basically, as far as music goes, I am completely openminded. In all seriousness, I can at the very least appreciate any form of music. Though I definitely lean towards certain genres, I'm down for anything. My favorites typically push the envelope in some way, offer up something different.
Basically - I enjoy action, I enjoy comedy, I enjoy it when the two are mixed a la Jackie Chan. I also enjoy the art of film-making, having made a few films in my time. So in addition to the "story" of a movie, I also thoroughly enjoy the cinematography. Tim Burton (Big Fish, Edward Scissorhands) and Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) are just masterful in this respect.
As for actual movie titles... a short list of all time favorites would have to include - Tommy Boy, Austin Powers, StarWars, Clerks, The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Office Space, Kill Bill (vol. 1 & 2), Wayne's World, Ocean's Eleven, Spinal Tap, SLC Punk, Shaolin Soccer, and of course most any Jackie Chan movie. Really, like my music, you can name almost any movie and I will probably have seen it or will want to see it.
Food Network. Travel Channel. Discovery. Project Runway. America's Best Dance Crew
Unfortunately, since I started college, I haven't been reading as much due to the MOUNTAINS of reading I do for classes.
However, I am a big (dorky) fan of science fiction and fantasy. I thoroughly enjoy the works of Terry Goodkind and Douglas Adams.
I also LOVE the work of David Sedaris. He is one of the funniest and most clever writers today.
"Born Confused" - Tanuja Desai Hidier
"Battle Royal" - Koushun Takami
My friends - for all the shit I know they go through and have gone through.
Artistically, Miles Davis and Leonardo DaVinci.
