Peru was a C86/indiepop-style band based in an area that was directly between Derby and Nottingham.

1992-93 line-up:

Brian Price - vocals, guitar
Johnny P Coolin - vocals, guitar
Chris Smith - bass
Zoe Head - keyboards, Vocals

with help from Kay Head on guitar, vocals

My Interests

The band released one split 7" single with Mary Queen of Scots on the Waaaaahhhhh/Bring On Bull label in 1993; a split cassette tape with Lament on the German-based Meller Welle label in 1994; and had a track, "World of Jason", on the very first CD release by the brilliant US label Shelflife, titled "Whirlwheels".The band played a handful of gigs in 1992 - the first was with The Marmite Sisters at the Princess Charlotte in Leicester, and the last was with some heavy metal c***s at a benefit do in Long Eaton. In between, we played some nice gigs with The Almanacs and supported Sarah Records artistes Heavenly at The Dial in Derby.
