Forged from candyfloss and mint cracknel in the late eighties, Strawberry Story was a heady mix of fuzzed out guitars, dense bass lines and joyously girly singing. They had a few plays by the late great John Peel, and Janice Long if you can remember that far back.
The band got single of the week in the NME for “The man with the stereo hands†and went on to tour Japan.
They were on numerous compilation tapes, some flexis and were often in the fanzines of the day. They released a few singles and one album on the Vinyl Japan label. Take a look, you can still get the recordings in the bargain bin, and of course on eBay.
