Sir Didymus

So pogo on that, yer twat!

About Me

Once upon a time there was a lovely little sausage called Baldrick, and he lived happilly ever after. And he did like the best show ever, oh yes. It's time to say a few goodbyes...
Nah, in all seriousness. I'm me. You know me. I'm Old Gregg. I do watercolours. Well, ok, not really, though I do dabble in photography. I am Sir Didymus - a fully fledged vinyl junkie Scorpio. I was meant to be a twin, but the world couldn't handle two of me, and the spirit of my brother decided instead to enter the body of Basil Brush, popular children's entertainer - which explains why he started out scraggy and posh, then turned fat and camp. My fault. Won't happen again. Meanwhile, the resulting clusterfuck that became me continues to amuse and bemuse people to this very day.
I'm apparently of average height and average build - though in recent times I seem to be lumbered with a bit of a podge. My hair is long, blonde and just on the wrong side of cool. The colour of my eyes is best described as Noop Green, which is appropriate, as Rufus the Noop from "The Dreamstone" is one of a myriad of small furry critters I apparently resemble. Most people seem compelled to hug me as if I'm a teddy bear, and I'm not adverse to these moments provided they don't smell of wee.
I really like this.
I have mild OCD, and have been known to have a panic attack over a sticker not peeling off cellophane properly. Mental. I salute magpies whenever I see them. I also have a penchant for Captain Morgan's rum, Southern Comfort, vodka of any variety, and a strong dose of absinthe. Sometimes all of them at once, depending on my mood that day, and the general availability of alcohol at that moment in time. My liver may disagree with this blatant destruction, but my brain doesn't. Possibly because I've killed the braincells that would disagree via the number of personal injuries I've sustained over the years.
I also think you can 100% judge a person on what they think of Batman - if they don't think he's clearly the greatest superhero of all time, they're probably pure evil. And totally wrong, of course.
"Now, what I want you to do is look at the picture of the kittens in a barrel. Look at them. They're having a whale of a time. They're all happy. Haha.
The one on the left's Phillip. Look at Phillip's eyes. Whenever you feel angry, I want you to look at Phillip. Your anger will recede like an ocean.
That'll be 159 Euros."

The one on the right must be called Collins. Its sort of drunken law. Don't ask. Anyhew, that's all I have to say right now.
Now forget about me... Watch this instead.

My Interests

I am currently a member of the following organisations and websites of note. In other words - here's where you can find me elsewhere. There are other places you can find me, such as facebook and deviantart - but I figure if you really want to find me elsewhere, you will do. That, and I'm trying to keep the loading times down - more links would just spoil that philosophy. See how thoughtful I am to you?

Other things I like include...
Random wandering in green tree filled areas.
Photographing things.
Cheese varieties.
Llamas.
Finding new music while still bumming the old stuff.
Experimenting with varying lengths of face fuzz.
Putting posters up till my thumb has a drawing pin indentation on it.
Filling one small room with far too many fox plushes, then sitting in the middle of them all just to see if I feel like part of a family.
Denying I resemble the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz in any way, shape or form.
Having way too many remote controls.
Making an interests box thats actually interesting, and a bit like Laura's, cos most people ignore this bit except her. She's a myspaz pioneer.
Myspaz pioneers like Laura.
And all the silly things you do see before you on this page of mine.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone involved in any of my favourite music, film and tv, as so far everyone I have met on that front has been lovely. I'd also like to meet Batman, just cos he's fucking Batman, yer know?

No surprises there, then!
"Which 'Labyrinth' Character are you?"
brought to you by Quizilla

Music:

I love music. Who doesn't, I guess. Though, I probably own far too much of it for my own good, but I'll still keep buying more. I love all kinds of stuff, but my favourites include the following bunch of oddballs...

Movies:

I love far too many films to possibly try and cram the list in here, but I suspect these lot would be near the top of the pile.

No doubt in a few short weeks, another film will be pretty high up that list.

Television:

When it comes to tv, I'm a lot fussier than I am with my movies! I tend to go for "cult" fodder... most sci-fi bores me these days, but obviously, I have a massive thing for Doctor Who and all its various spin offs. Most of my favourites are sitcoms and sketch shows - I'd like to think of myself as a comedy connossieur, and do my best to expose those around me to as much random crap as they can possibly ingest in one sitting.
Again, my favourites include...

And speaking of comedy, I think I should really use this place as an excuse to shout out about a handful of the comedians I adore. There's plenty more that make me giggle, but these are the big guns - worship them.

Books:

I love history books, and anything about my favourite entertainers, or the making of tv shows and films and all that jazz. I read much more non-fiction really, as I rarely seem to find the time or the patience to read novels these days - something I always mean to rectify, but never get around to. I love everything I've read by Clive Barker and Ben Elton, and have a soft spot for the Gormenghast series... but alas, my fiction knowledge is somewhat stifled and really needs a good seeing to.

At the moment, I'm slowly but surely plouging my way through this...

It's absolutely fantastic, but actually remembering I'm in the middle of it takes some doing.

Heroes:

There's a lot of people I hero worship to be honest. If you've made a brilliant piece of music, a great movie, or an interesting tv show, book or other such work of art, you're a hero of mine... most notably those featured in the following batch of brilliance.

>
And, whilst I don't want to go all soft and squidgy - as I'm soft and squidgy enough already - if you're someone I'd count as a friend, you're a hero too, just by being there, and being you.
