Big is beautiful!I have a degree in Fine Art (Combined & Media), & have worked mainly as an actor, performing with both amateur & professional theatre groups in & around the South Yorkshire area. I make art (both in painted & photographic form), and I have my first exhibition proper scheduled from Tuesday 4th March 2008 until Tuesday 25th March 2008 at Blue Moon vegetarian cafe. Blue Moon cafe can be found in the centre of the city of Sheffield, on the corner where St. James Street & St. James Row intersect, basically next door to the Cathedral on High Street. If I organise any more exhibitions of my work, I will place the dates & venues here, so keep checking! Feel free to check out the "Pics" section of my profile where you will find photos of my paintings that I hope you will like!

My Interests

Reading... ...music... movies... art... ...buying vintage tat on e-bay... fashion... ...& my partner, who is my true love and my soulmate...

I'd like to meet:

I was only six when this little fellow did a shuffling walk through the pearly gates but he was my hero even then - he made me want to be an actor. Brian Wilson - This fella reminds me of "Bear in the Big Blue House", so huggable he looks! Also happens to be the major creator of the most amazing music ever in my favourite band, "The Beach Boys". Carl Wilson, my favourite Beach Boy...sigh... Dennis Wilson, who had a lust for life & a reputation as a wild boy which belied a vunerable, highly sensitive nature... Bette Davis - this actress was as ballsy as they came, & she created a career based on raw talent, daring to play "ugly" at a time when, for women in Hollywood, good looks meant everything... Gregory Peck reminds me of my partner...handsome, sensitive, gorgeously dark featured, with integrity & gentleness... Peter Lorre, a brilliant & very underrated actor in his lifetime, came to attention in Fritz Lang's film "M", was the lead in a great many B-movies specialising in creepy characters, check out his performance in "Arsenic & Old Lace" with Cary Grant, very funny...

Music:

Phew, there's lots... Elliott Smith... ... The Beach Boys... ...Brian Wilson... Carl Wilson... Dennis Wilson... Love & Arthur Lee... ... The White Stripes... ...Captain Beefheart & his Magic Band... ...Nina Simone... Ben Folds... ...The Fall... McFly... John Lydon... Dolly Parton... ...Beck... Johnny Cash... ...The Hives... Talking Heads & David Byrne... ...Pulp & Jarvis Cocker... ...John Cooper Clarke... ...The Brian Jonestown Massacre... The Coral... American Music Club... ... Stereolab... The Divine Comedy... John Otway... ...Outkast... Brian Eno... ...Bernard Hermann... Robert Mitchum... ...Tom Waits... Earl Okin (Musical Genius & Sex Symbol)... ...John Shuttleworth (poor Rhiannon, Ken had wind)...Os Mutantes... Nick Drake... ... The La's... James Brown... Ivor Cutler... ... The Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band & Vivian Stanshall...Sparks... ...Moris Tepper...Randy Newman... ...The B-52's... ...Howlin' Wolf... ...Leadbelly... Keane... ... Bob Dylan... ...Robyn Hitchcock... ...Eels & Mr.E... ...Rufus Wainwright... ...Gwen Stefani... ...There, that's plenty to go on with.

Movies:

My favourite film of all time, Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights"... ...Cohen Brothers "Barton Fink"... ...Orson Welles "The Trial"... ...Beryl Reid in "Entertaining Mr.Sloane"... Bette Davis in "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"... ...Dirk Bogarde "The Servant" (which has an excellent screenplay by Harold Pinter)... ...Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho"... "Vertigo"... ... & "The Birds"... Love Tony Shalhoub in "Galaxy Quest"... ...The documentary "No Direction Home" about Bob Dylan... Recently saw "Safety Last" starring Harold Lloyd at The Showroom, very funny movie...

Television:

The first series of "Monk" with Tony Shaloub was classic... ..."Peep Show" is very funny & painful at the same time... ..."Flight of the Conchords" makes me laugh so hard that I get a really bad headache...

Books:

...Assorted biographies/autobiographies on those of interest to me (Hitchcock, Chaplin, Brian Wilson, Beach Boys, Marilyn Monroe, Robert Mitchum etc)... assorted books on art/photography/fashion... have started reading "Catch a Wave - The Rise, Fall & Redemption of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson" by Peter Carlin - looks promising.

Heroes:

Tony Shaloub, John Turturro, Brian Wilson, Carl Wilson, Bette Davis... ...The artist Georgia O'Keeffe......Beryl Reid... ....Harold Pinter.... and, most of all, my partner...

Dylans "Chronicles"...

Well, I've finally finished "Chronicles". It's an amazing book, the way it goes round in a circle, coming back to meet itself beginning to end, in the same way Dylans music has. I love all the charac...
