The Cry of Mankind

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

MySpace Contact Box from ModMyProfile.com

Okay, let's see... I am a student of Phonetics at the University of the Saarland in Germany (www.coli.uni-sb.de). I've just come back from Zürich, Switzerland, where I've done an internship in Zürich in March/April 2007, and I will probably start writing my Masters Thesis in Vienna in July.
I am vegetarian - mainly because of ethical reasons. I am convinced that there is no reason or right for the human species to torture, kill and slaughter other living beings just because we would like to eat them or in order to wear their skin. There are so many other possibilities, we should use our intelligence and skills to develop other perspectives for a non-carnivoric based nutrition and living!
l I like to see friends, chat and go to the cinema and to concerts (when I have the time), just hang out in a comfortable atmosphere - no intense disco/clubbing, thanx! Friendship, understanding, honesty and reliability count more than superficial neatness to me, and I can't stand people who show off with their (presumed) qualities, be it physically or intellectually. And consequently I don't like those people who fall for these swanks..
I like my stereo, a glass of wine in the evening, enjoyable talks to even more enjoyable people, listening to black gold (vinyl records), enjoying good food (Italian, Thai, Nepalese... I like almost any food, I think.. watching movies and reading books (fantasy and science fiction). I like running and working out, but I don't overdo it - there must be time for other things in life, too.
You Should Learn Swedish
Fantastisk! You're laid back about learning a language - and about life in general.
Peaceful, beautiful Sweden is ideal for you... And you won't even have to speak perfect Swedish to get around! What Language Should You Learn?
Your Personality Is
Guardian (SJ)
You are sensible, down to earth, and goal oriented.
Bottom line, you are good at playing by the rules.
You tend to be dominant - and you are a natural leader.
You are interested in rules and order. Morals are important to you.
A hard worker, you give your all at whatever you do.
You're very serious, and people often tell you to lighten up.
In love, you tend to take things carefully and slowly.
At work, you are suited to almost any career - but you excel in leadership positions.
With others, you tend to be polite and formal.
As far as looks go, you are traditionally attractive. You take good care of yourself.
On weekends, you tend to like to do organized activities. In fact, you often organize them! The Three Question Personality Test
You scored as Hartigan. You are Hartigan. You expect a lot from yourself. You want to do what is right, but if you don't succeed you can be very hard on youself. When things seem grim, litte things keep you going such as letters or gestures from others. A strong believer in justice, you always keep your values. Continue to make the most of your life, but make sure to ease up on yourself a little.

My Interests

Music, movies, highend audio, politics, wine, good (vegetarian) food and cooking, meeting friends, running... Well, that's basically it. But I'm open to new things, let's just try..

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet cool and classy people to hang out with and more, people with a sense for reality and maybe with their humor a little bit on the darker side.. I don't want to meet party-junkies or superficial barbie dolls.
Christopher Walken - One of the greatest actors ever! Visit his website http://www.walken2008.com/ and support his candidacy for the 2008 US presidential elections!
Oh, there is a whole bunch of people I'd love to meet, but I cannot list them all.. Well, maybe there is one more. But I doubt he or she even exists...

You are now marked on my profile visitor map!

Music:

Almost all kind of music but NOT the billboard crap and R&B and most Rap/HipHop... My absolutely favorite band is: My Dying Bride (GODS!). I also love Anathema, Tiamat, Katatonia, The Gathering, Radiohead, Death, Skyclad, Tool, Natalie Merchant, Sting (& The Police), 4hero, Amplifier, Lamb, Atheist, Cynic, Emperor, Paradise Lost, Björk, Quntal, Prodigy, Dead Can Dance, Air, Interpol, Beethoven, Debussy, Depeche Mode, Nirvana, Dredg, Coheed & Cambria, Motörhead, Underworld, Cradle of Filth, Nick Cave, Edvard Grieg, Pothead, Mastodon, Moloko, Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Talk Talk, Iron Maiden, Running Wild, Killing Joke, Depressive Age (RIP), Candlemass, dEUS, Gorillaz, Mouse on Mars and many others, especially Doom/Death/Black/Gothic Metal acts and experimental electronical stuff. And I am discovering new ones frequently! Besides Electronica and Metal I also like to listen to Old Music (especially baroque and medieval spiritual music, but also the classical stuff) and some pop if it's got brains.

Are You a True Metalhead?
Oh yeah you're a serious metalhead. You eat drink sleep and breath metal. You need to go join a band or something, if you're not already in one. Go you.

Movies:

Lord of the Rings, yes, Harry Potter (childishly fascinating..), Anchorman, Matrix Pt. 1, The Abyss, Gladiator, Alien, The Fog, and many other Fantasy, SciFi and historical pictures.. Don't really like artsy Dramas, overly stupid or overly intellectual (or pretended intellectual movies) that sacrifice fun for "artistic value"..

Television:

News, interesting documentaries, and sometimes series like Battlestar Galactica, The 4400, Lost, Star Trek and such.. I think I'm not that great a TV-junky..

Books:

Too many to name them all. Alltime faves include Philip Pullman's His Dark Material's Trilogy; Inkblood; Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paolini; Tad Williams' Otherland Trilogy and his Memory, Sorrow and Thorn-Trilogy; many of Stephen King's works, and many, many others, mostly Fantasy and Horror.

Heroes:

Martin Luther King, for his courage and dedication. J.R. Tolkien, for his unbelievable oeuvre and the world he created in the minds of generations. Ludwig van Beethoven, for his music and his never giving up creating it even after being deaf. All the people who try to help to protect animals from suffering in senseless tests. STOP THAT MADNESS!!
