Artist's Bio:
A little over two years ago I decided to try my hand at making lampwork glass beads. For those of you who don't know what "lampworking" is but would like to know, I'll explain. Lampworking is an age old practice dating back to ancient times. Glass is heated in a flame and then wound onto a metal mandrel to create a bead which is then in turn decorated with different colors to create an elaborate small piece of art. Glass bead making, AKA lampworking, is a trade and art form that is highly valued throughout the world. Now, two years after I melted my first rod of glass, I am thoroughly addicted to making glass beads and jewelry. So yes, whenever I get a free minute I'm in front of the flame, getting my face way too close~making my already "rosy" cheeks even more pink~and I try not to burn my eyebrows off my face! I BELIEVED IN PEACE AND NOW IM SURROUNDED BY IT.
I ALSO BELIEVED IN SURVIVAL.
I SURVIVED.
DOUBT SHOULD NOT BE BELIEVED.
IT ONLY SLOWS DOWN BELIEF.
IT WILL MAKE YOU BELIEVE "BELIEF" IS UNREALISTIC.
