Hellsent "Armageddon"
He.llsent :Freedom
He.llsent can be compared to no one. He is as original as his name is. His style of rap is dream like and mythical. He has an uncanny gift with words and speech. Each syllable is spoken with a hidden agenda; he’s almost ninja like with his ability to creep on you and leave you gasping for life with his deadly wordplay. He’s clearly ahead of his time.
He.llsent began his rap career in high school sharpening his sword in the classroom and sitting on bus stops benches while he was supposed to be in class. Not really taking it(MCing) serious until childhood friend told him he was dope enough to release some materiel. He picked a name for himself and began his career as He.llsent. Influenced by an art form that wasn’t being properly portrayed by the media, Hellsent along with Qwazzar of Typical Cats fame together and created a name for themselves with the Outerlimitz. In the late nineties, influenced by black radical groups of the time and science fiction, they released a critically praised album in the Chicago Underground scene. 1998's, Wrong Actions For Right Reasons. For the remainder of the 90’s he appeared on a couple friends albums and befriended some talented individuals. Then in early 00’s he hooked up with Frontline and appeared on Qwazaar’s debut WTW and Sine Language. He got introspective on his solo song from Sine Language. The song Child Support is still dope and unique to this day.
After staying on the road for a couple years, He.llsent and Qwazaar teamed up one more time to do an Outerlimitz album. This time they teamed up with Silence and released Suicide Prevention on Galapagos4. This album was the clearest and most professional albums to be released in Chicago at that period. Mixed by the Grouch of The Living Legends and mastered by Capitol records. He.llsent stepped his game up lyrically on this album.
He.llsent recently started dabbling in producing. His approach to the beats is raw and traditional. On False Profit he produced the entire album. He deftly switches from style to style. From “down south “anthem type beats to dark “New York†flavored boom bap. It’s all done effortlessly. False Profit will show the hip hop community what he has truly offered as an artist.
Known for spitting his heart on stage, Hellsent is a monster when he performs. He's toured extensively around the US ripping show after show. He.llsent finally released his solo album with Galapagos4 titled Rainwater. Really just something to get certain people ears ready for his next release. He made his first album for himself. He is currently prepping his next album which will be released in a totally unique way.
