With varying influences from Fripp & Eno's sonic explorations to the fractured songwriting of the Pixies, from the tranquility of 60's modal jazz to the DYI ethics of D.C. hardcore, the craft and creativity behind MDD's sonic pallet lies in expansive musical taste. It all started when D wrote some songs on a beat up piano. D showed some demos to drummer/multi instrumentalist friend T. D and T put together a new project with the intent of recording based on D's demos. Drummer C jumped aboard and split drum and bass duties with T. Wanting a guitar presence in the sound, H joined the crew. Quickly gaining notoriety in Burlington VT's indie scene (including opening for The Fiery Furnaces & Casio Tone for the Painfully Alone), MDD is currently recording they're debut record with Ben Collet. Plans for release in Spring 2008.
Members of My Dearest Darling also perform in the following projects: Tell No One (D and C), Lendway (H & T), Gregory Douglas (T), and Moonbank (H)
