About Me

Todd Gevry is a humble, well versed multi-instrumentalist who specializes in Pop, Rock, Psychedelic, and Alternative styles of music and the drum set. His life has forever and always will be engulfed in music. He is influenced by more than just musicians and artists for it is the outward, realistic, futuristic, and influential thinkers like Albert Einstein, Ray Kurzweil, David Lynch, Stanley Kubrick, Hunter S. Thompson, and Bill Hicks (to name a few) who capture attention and provoke one to think of the world in a different way. Todd is even more interested in what could be in the far reaches of space and the ocean or what technology will be like in the distant future than he is in music. Music is life, though, so we'll keep the sound waves rolling.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: None yet... coming soon!
Band Members: Me and the instruments.
Influences: Early Bands: The Ventures, The Beatles (My favorite!), Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Police, ...and many, many more. 90's Alt-Rock Bands: Nirvana, Sound Garden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Spin Doctors, The Foo Fighters, Sublime, Radiohead, The list could go on and on... Drummers/Songwriters: Dave Grohl is my biggest influence. I absolutely love his drumming and backup vocals in Nirvana. He's the guy who really influenced me to do what I do. I love to play hard rock and sing backup. He's the reason that I decided to learn guitar and bass, write songs, and record everything by myself. As soon as I found out that he recorded the first Foo Fighters album by himself it was all over! I wanted to do that too because I can! Also, Jeff Salisbury made me the drummer I am today. I studied with him for 4 years at Johnson State College and he helped craft my style. I wouldn't play the way I do now if it wasn't for him. John Bonham (of course!), Stewart Copeland (big time), Nick Mason, Matt Cameron, Jimmy Chamberlain, Bud Gaugh, Eric Kretz, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo (I'll be the first to stand up for Ringo!), Curt Cobain, David Gilmour... I could name them all day so I'll stop there. I also learn something from everyone I meet. Basically, I like all styles of music but there are a few styles that I gravitate towards. If the music is good, I listen to it! I mostly like some style of rock with good full vocals.
Sounds Like: Many people have told me that my music sounds a little like the Beatles. Others have said Neil Young meets Alice In Chains. I call my music Beatlesesque Alt-Pop. My newer songs have some weird changes... more alt and prog elements. HEAVIER!
Record Label: I do it myself... that way I don't owe anybody.
Type of Label: Major
