Melissa Trinchere is not a tiny, classically trained girl with a piano, who is full of quirks and sexy smirks. She’s a bit of a sad-sap, self-taught girl with a keyboard. Not that there is anything wrong with those tiny, trained types!
She hails from Southern California and frequents a few monthly trips a year to the North Western coast of Ireland. Melissa is a part of the “sad bastard posseâ€. Recently filed under “Adult Dark Alternative†by Earbuzz.com (her current online CD retailer), but she thinks her music should have a more colorful explanation; “Alternative, Melodramatic Popâ€. “Les Petits Garcons EP†(The Little Boys), which is now available to purchase on www.earbuzz.com/melissatrinchere since April 1st, 2007 is an 8 track CD that was recorded in 2004 in Ireland, originally as a demo.
She is currently planning to support the release of this CD (and the EP/Single called “Changing Tideâ€) by performing in cafes in Southern California and North Western Ireland.
She started to tinker with the keyboards at 16 years old. In the year 2002, she was majoring in music at Chaffey Community College in Southern California. Singing on the other hand started at 12 years old, and she began to get really serious about it at 14. The songs started out as poems, then they were blended with catchy melodies, recorded into a crappy tape recorder and played back - to hear what was right or wrong.
It’s pretty cliché, but she does come from a musical family. Her Mom was a singer, her Dad was a multi-instrumentalist (his prominent instrument being keyboards), and her older brother also has it in his blood.
Currently an online college student majoring in Liberal Arts at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California, Melissa balances her time between her studies and pursuing a career as an independent musician on her own record label called, Aries Rising Records.
Melissa is also currently working on a full-length album tentatively titled “A Lunar Legacyâ€, which will consist of 12 tracks and will support that TBA release with a more extensive Northern and Southern California coffee house tour.
