About Me

I moved to LA recently and it's sunny and nice. I love the beach and checking out the sunset, no really I do, not long walks though. Whoever said LA bit, is a big fat liar. "This town" is narly dude! I miss New York, lived there for 6 years. Mostly I miss being able to pull off whatever the fuck I wanted to wear, walking around the east village, and not having to deal with car insurance. I'm not a big fan of flying, but I love being rocked to sleep on a train and the freedom of open windows, blaring music, and empty streets on a great road trip. I love meeting new people, hearing great music, eating good food, and feeling inspired. I'm not a big drinker, but I like the look of a full bar, the shape of a martini glass and you in your smoking jacket...I like a good glass of wine, a chocolate martini, or a Jack and ginger, depending on my mood. I play guitar, sing and write my own stuff. I've had a few bands, Spitfire, that was quirky, "irreverant" folk rock, DOLLFACE, which was the love child of my friend Michele and I (a cross-country mix of punk and folk), and now I'm hitting a more punk flava with my LA girl band which is currently untitled. Please help! I'm originally from Atlanta, GA but thanks to "actor training", you'd never know. I miss the thunderstorms down there; they were awesome, really passionate. I attempted being an painter for a spell, which was fun. yikes...I'm not into plays, although I studied "Theatre" in school. I'm more of a movie and music buff. Oh and I love art, photography, and a good dance show. I hate talking politics and religion until I really know you. Nothing annoys me more that someone trying to convert me. Forgive me, I went to a school like the one in "saved" for a few years...it was rough, but so much more amusing now. I have some annoying food allergies so I'm a little bit of a nightmare when ordering food (think when Harry met Sally), but I love to bake and if you do something nice for me I'll usually bake you cookies or a pie. My friends are my family, as my family is far away, and i cherish them dearly. I'm into cool nicknames, common courtesy, not judging what you don't know, a good kiss that makes your toes tingle, and going after something just because you feel it.

My Interests

acting, songwriting, movie making, sand castle contests, "running" (aka jogging very slowly), learning how to box, do Ka-Ra-Te, surf, and play the drums, or the violin and mandolin that are collecting dust in my closet...and finding a way to use the word "narly' everyday.

I'd like to meet:

Someone as witty as my roommate, as honest as my dad, as loving as my best friend, and as kick ass as possible. I like to laugh, so make me.

The Pervs, just about all classic rock, Joan Jett, PSK, The Damnwells, Ray Charles, Ella, Louie, Death Cab and Postal Service, Coldplay, Billie Holiday, janis Joplin and pretty much anything folky and hippie related, old school Liz Phair, the Supercasuals, Jump, Little Children, Kings of Convenience, old school Michael J, Over the Rhine, Scissor Sisters, Tegan and Sara, Tom Petty, Travis, Wilco, White Stripes, and great singer/songwriters and makers of pure and nasty rock. Fill me in on some good local stuff! i miss that about NYC too!

I'm a sap for cheesey romantic bullshit but I love quirky creative stuff too. Still I hate myself after I've cried as Bette Midler sings "The Glory of Love" at the end of Beaches.
