About Me

I'm Jamie Moore, a drummer living in San Francisco with my wife, Alice. Check out my web-site if you dig loops & beats like the ones I posted here.
I've played with New York bands Representative Ball , Yes Virginia , As-Is Ensemble , Organic! , Ceramic , Neil Howard , Richard Upchurch and Goats in Trees. Look out for records from Neil , John Scheaffer's Ceramic and Richard Upchurch this year.
In SF, I recently started playing with Patrick Cress' band Telepathy . Also playing with a jAzZ meAts rAdiohEad project called Disappear Incompletely . From Feb through May '07 I pooled SFBA improvisers together to play John Zorn's game piece COBRA as an overture to night of 5 one act creepshows at the Hypnodrome Theater.

It's cool watching all 4 COBRA videos at the same time. Try it!
COBRA: Kasey Knudsen, alto saxophone; Rob Ewing, trombone
COBRA: Joe Bagale, piano, beat-box; Mike Williams, bass trumpet; Aaron Novik, clarinet

Band Members: Thanks to all the fantastic, amazing, and delicious improvisers who contributed to Cobra at Hypnodrome Headtrips. During the run, Hypnodrome won the SF Weekly readers' pole for best Theater company in SF! Thanks to: Aaron Novik, Jason Hoops, Lisa Mezzacappa, Kasey Knudson, Rob Ewing, Phillip Greenleif, Amanda Schoofs, Darren Johnston, Jordan Glenn, Matt Berkeley, Joe Bagale, Mike Dale, Patrick Cress, Peter Musselman, Roger Reidlbauer, Eric Perney, Scott Hill, Aram Shellton, Steini Gunnerson, Marcus Stephens, Evan Francis, Gawain Mathews, Tim Bulkley, Ava Mendoza, Andy Strain, Alan Lin, Mads Tolling, Mitch Marcus, David Arend.

For a "wack" experience, play all 4 COBRA videos at the same time!

COBRA: Patrick Cress, alto saxophone; Aaron Novik, bass clarinet

COBRA: Mitch Marcus, piano; Aram Shelton, soprano saxophone
Influences: Some faves are Matt Chamberlain, Jim Keltner, Jim Black, Joey Barron, Darren Jessee, Billy Martin, Mitch Mitchell, Elvin Jones, Cindy Blackman, Sonny Payne, Joe Adamik (Califone). I enjoy drummers who really have their own sound that's rooted in groove and individual expression. Muscle bound chopsters are amazing and a blast to watch, but not really my cup o' tea when it comes to playing. Maybe if I worked out more...
