The PHOBOS ARMY project started in the beginning of 2006, when Luca Marasso and Francesco Viglino decided to join forces to put together something more than the ordinary high-school coverband.
Under the name of PHOBOS the band moved its first steps but soon, like almost every band on the planet, crashed against the wall of line-up problems. During the summer of 2006 almost all of the members left the band. The only one who distinguished himself for his loyalty was Pietro Viglino, drummer.
The three survivors decided to bring forth the project, and some weeks later Fulvio Marenco, (re)joined the band. Since he was the guitarist of the band in which Luca and Francesco played before the creation of PHOBOS, this was for him an offer that could not be refused.
When the new direction of the project had been defined, Francesco Navobi was enroled as vocalist. Adding his own musical background to the influences of the band, his voice brought PHOBOS' sound to a more melodic attitude; this change was also underlined by the entrance in the band of Danilo Marenco, keyboard player.
Just when everything seemed finally fine, a storm brought PHOBOS to its knees again : in October 2007 Francesco Viglino decided to leave the band.
The solution, ironically, came by chance. During rehearsals Luca broke a string of his bass, and ended the booked time singing, screaming, jumping and headbanging like never before; PHOBOS finally found the frontman they've been missing, and Danilo took the place of Luca in the rhythmic section, proving (unexpectedly) to be also a talented bass player.
This change brought new life to the band, and with the entrance of Riccardo D'Amico as lead guitarist PHOBOS reached its full potential. The band's name was changed into PHOBOS ARMY to emphasize the difference with the past, a difference that is still evident both in the music and in the attitude of the band.
Now PHOBOS ARMY is ready to jump right in the battlefield once again. As a proof of that, our first demo is now ready to be released. All the hard work, the sweat, the blood and the tears that we faced in our life as a band are there, printed on it. We hope you'll enjoy it.
This is our sure future... stay tuned!!!
