About Me

Hi, how's it going. My name is Detlef. I enjoy German and Chinese cuisine. I love persimmons and tufted titmice. I dig botany and horticulture. My long-term goals are to live in a small, art-filled home with select humans and several tame cats; to eventually outfit my roof with solar panels so that I'm a net electricity generator; and to make enough money to occasionally support PBS.
I love our little blue-green world, but I'd really like to move to another Earthlike planet, not too far away . . . just to a nicer place for raising a family, is all. Apart from the climate (for now), and the oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere, this planet doesn't really seem appropriate for that purpose.

My Interests

Food. Science. Stained glass. Dvorak keyboards. Music. Libraries. Rooibos. Rollmops. Thrift stores. Handpainted dinnerware. The Amazing Race. Africa. Top Chef. Recycling. Politics. Corruption. Graphic art. Passion. Gain.

I'd like to meet:

People from other star systems or galaxies. People who own, or who can access, interstellar vehicles. Those who seek to écraser l'infâme. "Rain" and "Goldie" from Flavor of Love. Jack Kervorkian. Al Sharpton. Lady Miss Kier Kirby. Angela Merkel. Cindy Wilson from the B-52's. Ernie Sabella. Katharine Jefferts Schori. Michael Badalucco. James Whitmore. Charles Grodin. Margaret Cho--definitely. Judy Gold. Debra Wilson--hilarious. Woz. Tim Gunn. Soderbergh. Cherry Jones. The Other Two. The dude who organized the coup d'etat in Mauritania and then refused to run in the election he quickly arranged, because he wanted it to be a real democracy for once--I would love to meet him, shake his hand. And, most important, I'd like to meet you.
