Wither dates back to the mid 90's when lead vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Parrish was influenced to play the strings by distant family member and rock superstar, Ted Nugent. This inspiration drove Jeremy to school himself on the guitar. in parallel, younger brother, Chuck Parrish, took a heavy interest in playing the drums, and immediately he was a natural with the sticks. For the next several months, the two spent countles hours becoming an awesome duo.
The two brothers along with guitarist Barret Smith and bassist Mathew "Mole" Leeper, created "Ground Zero." Shortly after and with the utmost respect for the victims of Septermber 11th, the band changed their name to Wither and released their freshman CD, Fallout. The CD obtained instantaneous, local success with hits such as Addicted, Separated, and the title track Fallout.
Soon after, a decision was made to take the band into a new era. Mutaully, Barret and "Mole" parted ways with the group, and booming bassist Jeremy "Gonzo" Harrington combined his talent with remaining members, Jeremy and Chuck Parrish.
The newly formed Wither has released an EP that contains new hits such as Lights Out, So Long, The End Again, and Dark Sun. These songs symbolize the wave of guitar riffs and vocal power that the original band members had always intended. Early recognition for this new wave has come through the honor of taking stage with rock sensations Crossfade, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Cold, Smile Empty Soul, Hinder, and many more.
Playing in front of thousands of unknown ears with their energetic stage performances and hypnotic music, Wither is winning over crowds from coast to coast.

i love wither because every time i go to a show to watch them play, they can be playing to a huge crowd of people but still make you feel like your the only one in the room.they are great people and have always been nothing but kind.

ten thumbs up (if i could) for earnest music and passionate lyrics. ive seen wither twice and i cant describe how they can make ppl feel.especially the girls..i recall seeing one girl crying at a cains show simply because the lead singer touched her hand.that is a true band that deserves to be ahead of them all.

wow.ive never seen wither live but my friend has sent me a cd and its amazing.. you can take down every instrument and be able to listen to how every member puts their heart into their one instrument. i llove listening to
