Bad Things started out as just a good time party band playing lots of classic cover tunes and trying to not tread the same ground as all the other bands around. Along the way, they began writing originals and soon grew bored with playing other people's songs. Now, a few years later, they play all original music that has a unique combination of oldschool heavy metal/hard rock with a bit of a modern take on it. The goal is to write music that is diverse, that pays tribute to their influences, yet at the same time is clearly Bad Things.
Bad Things has had the honor of sharing the stage with national acts such as Rhino Bucket, Jet Boy, and Cockpit, as well as other great local bands such as Acropolis, BagEyes, Hard Truth, Beneath, Surcease Angels, Doomsday Junky, Hollywood Harlot, and many more! Bad Things has played several venues in eastern Oklahoma, as well as Kansas and Missouri. They have also played several benefit shows for some worthy causes and played the 34th Annual Freaker's Ball at the historic Cain's Ballroom. Bad Things has also received airplay on Z104.5 The Edge's Homegroan radio show as well as the iROK Radio podcasts.
Bad Things has been through several personnel changes but now has the best lineup in it's history consisting of Don Sloan on guitar and vocals, Harvey Jackson on bass and vocals, Kelly Endsley on drums, and recently have added a scorching second guitarist by the name of Donnie Creitz. After the departure of their recent vocalist Chris Atherton, Bad Things decided rather than trying to replace Chris, they would take on the vocal duties themselves with Don and Harvey handling the majority of the vocals at this point. Believing they now are sounding better than ever, Bad Things is working on writing new music and recording a CD, which hopefully will be released sometime in 2009.
