But I know it don't come in a shot glass.

About Me

he's a serious mister
shake his hand and he'll twist your arm

with monopoly money
we'll be buying the funny farm

and I'll do flips
and get paid in chips
from a diamond as big as the ritz
then I'm calling it quits

eyes the color of candy
lies to cover the handicap

though your slippers are ruby
you'll be led to the booby trap

and there's no prize
just a smaller size
so I'm wearing the shoe til it fits
then I'm calling it quits

now he's numbering himself among the masterminds

cuz he's hit upon the leverage of valentines

lifting dialogue from Judy Garland storylines

where get-tough girls turn into gold mines

and oh, those poloroid babies
taking chances with rabies
happy to tear me to bits
well, I'm calling it quits.

My Interests

Filmmaking. Flute Playing. Scuba Diving. Exploration of any kind. Stories of any kind. History, personal and global. Space and science in general. I guess you could just boil it all down to Knowledge. I love to know things. Which would be why the "Random Article" link on Wikipedia is just about the best thing ever invented on the internet...EVER! Well, that and HowStuffWorks.com

I'd like to meet:

Whoever.

Music:

I really enjoy so many different artists and styles of music. But for some reason, lately I have only been able to bring myself to listen to a few select CD's. The top being:

Shivaree I Oughtta Give You a Shot in the Head for Making Me Live

Also in that small, select list would be Spoon, Goldfrapp, Aimee Mann, and Bjork, obviously.

Other artists I enjoy but just haven't been listening to:

Bjork, Aimee Mann, Ennio Morricone, Fiona Apple, The Dandy Warhols, Remy Zero, Broken Social Scene, Eels, Cibo Matto, Gorillaz, The Cardigans, Kylie Minogue, Garbage, The Like, Our Lady Peace, Pink Martini, Radiohead.

Obviously there are more, but I think you get the idea.

Movies:

There are only two directors who have consistently amazed me with their work. I have yet to see a film by any of these two that I don't regard as a phenomenal achievement. In no particular order, these three are:
Wong Kar-Wai (Chungking Express, In The Mood For Love, 2046, etc.)
David Cronenberg(The Fly, Videodrome, History of Violence, etc.)
Of course, there are other directors I love (Lynch, Kubrick, Anderson), and I love so many other movies. Some of them include:
Me and You and Everyone We Know, Mean Girls, Kill Bill (vol. 1 and 2), Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, Heathers, Airplane, Naked Gun, etc. I also have a special place in my heart for horror - Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Streets, Jaws, Friday the 13ths, Halloweens, Night/Day/Dawn of the (Living) Dead, The Fog (John Carpenter's), The Thing (John Carpenter's), Alien(s/3/Resurrection), etc.
and finally, probably my favorite movie of all time:
R.I.P. Robert Altman

Television:

OK, so I was extremely addicted to Lost for that last year or so, and although I still watch it, it kind of is starting to suck, and I can't bring myself to list it here without saying as much. We'll see how it pans out when it reappears in February.

My all-time favorite TV show would definately be:

I also really love the Game Show Network, but only because I love trivia so much.
Of course, I will always love Six Feet Under.

Books:

My favorite author by far is

Haruki Murakami (The Wind-Up Bird Chronicles, A Wild Sheep Chase, Hard-boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, etc). His novels are so sublimely surreal. He, of course, provides a welcome replacement to my former favorite author:

Chuck Palahniuk. No offense to any of his die-hard fans, but his work is really...really slipping. Each novel he writes, he seems to be more and more caught up in his own hype. Sad, really, but I still love his older stuff.
And to ramble on, I love H.P. Lovecraft, Clive Barker, Tom Robbins, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Toni Morrison, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, etc.

Heroes:

I don't really have any heroes...although my friend Corey comes pretty close. But I only say that because she would kill me if I didn't....just kidding, I love you.

A Bad...ok, terrible story
