Queen, The Who, Metallica, The Doors, The Dead Pets, Flogging Molly, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Kaiser Chiefs, Reel Big Fish, Spunge, Dandy Warhols, Small Faces, The Kinks, Free, Bad Company, Blondie, Bob Marley, No Doubt, Oasis, Simon and Garfunkel, Sublime, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Wolfmother, Howards Alias, Snow Patrol .... and many more! Plenty of classic rock is gooood, and a nice dose of ska, old or new.
Smaller bands definitely deserving a mention are Thinkpol (now no longer together), The Attic Project, Accolade, Random Hand, Nobodies Heros and Pickled Dick.
Movies:
I LOVE Quadrophenia
Anything with Johnny Depp is amazing (he always chooses interesting films)- especially Dead Man, Benny and Joon and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...
Monty Python, Pulp Fiction, Spinal Tap, Dodgeball, Withnail and I, Reservoir Dogs, The Wicker Man, The Lion King, Fight Club, Stigmata, Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride, Aladdin, Team America, Tommy, 12 Monkeys, Gladiator, Shaun of the Dead, Austin Powers (1 and 2 only), Monsters Inc... i dont prefer any one genre. But i dont like scary scary films! i'm a coward :-P
Does stand up comedy count as movies? Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey's stand up dvds are absolutely brilliant.
Television:
Black Books and Green Wing are the bestest programmes ever. I can watch them over and over.
British comedy always wins- Spaced, Peep Show, Brass Eye, Look Around You, How Do You Want Me, Have I Got News For You, How Do You Want Me, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Room 101 ...
I love Neighbours- it's so terrible! I just rediscovered Vic and Bob's Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), which is insane.
Books:
Gotta love Harry Potter, I also like Mary Stewart (The crystal cave, the Hollow Hills), Wuthering Heights, 1984, Moonfleet, The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, Paul Doherty, Mary Renault... oh i cant think of many at the moment, but i love reading :-)
Heroes:
