GOOD INFO FOR NEWCOMERS!
Marino Specogna made this book easy to read and very useful tool for anyone who ever wondered about owning a race horse but does not know where to go or what to ask.
Book has different chapters about any issues you might wonder about starting on very basics to continue to where to get a horse that would be a best fit for you.
So there is the "get rich with a race horse" dream playing a role but he also starts one chapter very straight stating:
Is Racing For You?
"The training cost for a horse, that is already trained and racing, can range from $25 per day per horse to over $200 per day per horse. The range in fees relates to the fact that different racetracks offer a range of purse money, the higher the purse money usually the higher the training fees."
Marino writes about different aspects on racing world including breeding, training, horse conformations roles etc. He includes plenty examples from prior, these are interesting to read even if you already own a race horse
There is different website addresses included and some photos inside the book. Photos are very poor quality black and white but still nice addition to this book.
Book is nicely sized without being too big, it has solid sturdy covers. Our book was published 2005 and belongs to iUniverse book lineup. You can also buy this book straight from the publisher at www.iuniverse.com or by calling 1-800-Authors.
Maybe you will never claim a horse for $10.000 who will earn over $150.000 like Marino Specogna did, but it will not hurt to read how he did it!
After all, you'll never know....
