About Me

The two things I value most in life are good friends and good times. If you know me well, you've probably heard me go on and on about how you can't make good friends without spending good times with them, and, you can't have good times unless you have good friends around. I’m on a constant search for new friends and there is nothing I enjoy more than spending time with old friends.
I started sailing competitively in the summer of 2006 at the Austin Yacht Club on Lake Travis and absolutely love it. I "work the pit" on a Catalina 22, so, my primary responsibility is to pull in the front sail every time we make a tack or jibe. We only race against other C22's of the exact same design, so, the skill of each boat's crew becomes easily apparent. This makes for some great shit-talking at the clubhouse after a day of racing. Lake Travis is such a fun lake to race-on. Our courses are very short, and this creates some very crowded starting lines and hectic mark roundings. The wind is strong and shifty. Collisions are not uncommon at all, and we commonly get very vocal about who has the right of way. "Starboard leeward motherfucker!!!! We have the right of way!!!! This boat is ugly and I will fucking hit you!!!! We've been kicking some ass out there lately. GOOD TIMES!
I've been spending a lot of time on powerboats at the local lakes too. My parents just gave me their 32-foot Marinette Sedan Cruiser. They bought her when I was around 12 years old, and so I spent almost every weekend at Lake Texoma while I was growing-up. My folks are getting older and were just not able to put her to good use as much as she deserves. They knew how much work and love I had put into her over the years, so, they decided to just sign it over to me. It sleeps 6, has a nice bathroom and kitchen, two big V8's, a flying bridge, A/C & heat, and a generator. We've installed an awesome stereo system with some great subwoofers, so it definitely bumps! Three of my best friends have ski boats and we have been taking them out a lot too. We'll anchor my boat in a cove and use it as the mothership. My buddy Bobby Aymes is an AWESOME fisherman and we've been dropping these big underwater lights down over the sides to attract fish at night. We have definitely been catching some monster fish. We'll clean them on the swim platform and cook them right there on the boat. We'll fish as late as we can, and then we'll just go to sleep on the boat and drive back to the marina in the morning. This boat is definitely going to make for one hell of an awesome summer!
I've been spending a lot of time running the local rivers. I have two kayaks and a nice canoe. I've got about ten 1-man rafts that make for some awesome "tubes". Central Texas has so many gorgeous rivers to run. I'm always down for a float-trip!
I've been going out to music events and house parties quite a bit lately too. I use Microsoft Outlook to manage my personal life, so, I am usually pretty up-to-date and organized with what's going on around town.
I have a deep love for music with a strong appreciation of the electronic genres. For the last couple of years, my favorite genres have been Electro, Italo, and late-era Disco. I have always loved House, Techno, and Drum & Bass as well. Plush is definitely my favorite bar downtown.
I love wakeboarding and I make it out as often as I can. I can't pull off any invert tricks as of yet, but, I've gotten pretty good at catching some pretty big airs, which is where wakeboarding really becomes fun. I absolutely love snowboarding too. I make it a point to put together a big snowboard trip at least once a year, but I sure wish I could spend more time on the slopes. I’m always down for riding dirt bikes and I just love hitting motocross tracks. I love to mountain bike too, but, I have not done very much lately. Paintball is the best game on earth, so, I’m always down for a day of that. We have been racing go-karts quite a bit at the Iron Rock Raceway at Bergstrom Airport too. Those karts get up to about 50MPH and you race head to head with your friends. It gets down-right scary because you almost always have to dodge a few good wrecks each race.
WE RULE! Life is GOOD! I couldn't do this without you guys! Much Love! Alx
