Saltworx

Saltworx formed in London at the end of 2006. Founding members are guitarist/vocalist Chucky Bowden & drummer Jimmy Anderson both of whom had previously toured & released material extensively with various acts back in South Africa. After endless politics & trend muppets single handedly destroying the metal scene in SA, both decided to make their way to the UK and join their creative forces. A third member was found in the form of jazz trained bassman George Sabo, sealing the current line-up.The name Saltworx is derived from the salt miners of old and their legendary tale of the harsh underground world they inhabited whilst surviving slave labour. Hitting just about every possible obstacle known to man in creation of the band (and having one or two similarities with these miners), when deciding on a name, Saltworx stuck.Saltworx music is about power grooves & riff driven songs focused on simplicity in composition & execution. The music appeals to a cross over market where both the heavier crowd & rockers can appreciate it, steering away from the screamathon trend of the '00s. Chuck's strong melody lines powerfully delivered along with the technical abilities of both Jimmy and George create something special with songs that will hook you sonically & have you bouncing your head before the first chorus. The band's true strength however is of course their live performances where nothing is held back, ever & the audience will always be subjected to an intense session of positive power metal!George is currently finishing up a tour in Russia but is due to return in March to coincide with the launch of our debut album Decipher!The band are currently signed to their own independent label Shred Media Inc.
